But Microsoft's tiny support window has just surprised me, especially as I notice how well my 7-year-old laptop (with a recently upgraded SSD) still runs Win10.

Yea Microsoft in general has eased up. (e.g. unlicensed Win10 is so easy to install & very usable). Let them put restrictions to convince like 99% of the world to go upgrade - but pls don't piss on the 1% of Win enthusiasts by making it impossible.

@varungupta3009 Idk mate, don't think they'll ever officially go back on this. There will always be hacks and work arounds, but going that route inspire of having a genuine Windows 10 license just sucks.
