Dunno I lowkey have no issues w/ pricing. But yall need to understand 20k is branded types that are well known yall we pay for the brand right? Like used for status symbols. 20k bag of a new brand that looks like another gives me kinda like an ick.

If SM and carryom is 85-90% likeness, and carryom and other brands are 60-70% likeness, ilang percent dapat? 80% ganoin? What carryom is accusing is the thing that they’re accused of. Just a variation in likeness.
They have affordable ones but yeah dunno why they have 20k priced bags.

SM Retail says its stores serve as marketplaces for suppliers and do not design or manufacture the products sold on their shelves.
SM Retail has issued a statement following accusations from local bag brand Carry Om that designs similar to two of its products were being sold at SM Store branches.
In its statement, SM Retail stressed that SM Store operates as a marketplace rather than a product manufacturer or designer.
“SM Store is a marketplace. We don’t create designs nor manufacture products to sell,” the company said.
“We are a platform for many suppliers to reach our customers. We scout the market to choose the latest products and items that are current and trendy at a price range that’s accessible and attractive to our customers,” it added.
The statement comes after Carry Om founders Viktoria Salazar and Dhanvan Saulo posted a video on September 24 accusing SM Store of selling bags that allegedly copied two Carry Om designs.
The couple showed two bags they said were purchased from SM Store. One allegedly resembled Carry Om’s Garuda tote bag in an orange-and-gray colorway, while another was compared with the brand’s Ganga hybrid backpack in maroon and tan.
Carry Om said customers had alerted the company after spotting the bags at SM Mall of Asia, SM Makati, and SM Megamall earlier this month.
The upcycling brand produces colorful bags in limited quantities using surplus fabrics, including materials associated with Khumbmela, the 1970s brand pioneered by Saulo’s father, Yadu Saulo. Carry Om also employs former Khumbmela workers, many of whom are now senior citizens.
Salazar and Saulo further claimed that SM representatives had repeatedly approached Carry Om about joining its retail network, offers that the company declined. In their video, they displayed screenshots of purported email exchanges, including proposals for Carry Om counters at several SM properties.
Carry Om also appeared to have sent a cease-and-desist notice concerning the disputed designs.
SM Retail did not directly address Carry Om’s specific allegations of design copying in the statement provided. Instead, it emphasized its relationship with independent suppliers and its role in providing retail access.
“We provide our customers the opportunity to access a wide array of products at reasonable price points,” SM Retail said.
The company also highlighted its work with smaller businesses.
“Through our retail network, we have been supporting social enterprises and MSMEs to scale their business, by offering them opportunities to offer their products within the SM Retail network,” it said.
Carry Om, meanwhile, has urged customers to continue sending photos of products they believe resemble its designs.
The dispute has placed attention not only on the two bags in question but also on the relationship between large retailers, their third-party suppliers, and independent Filipino designers whose products inspire or influence trends in the broader market.

Three years ago, I accidentally uploaded a four-second audio clip of myself sighing and saying "please just let me die" to the official corporate announcement channel on Slack. I thought I was searching for a file, but I somehow clicked the microphone icon. The worst part is that it was a Monday morning, and my boss, an incredibly earnest man named Greg, thought it was a genuine cry for help. Instead of just deleting it or laughing, he scheduled an emergency one-on-one "wellness check" with me. I had to sit there in his glass-walled office and explain that I wasn't actually suicidal, I was just trying to open an Excel sheet that had been loading for too long. He didn't really believe me, so for the next six months, he would randomly leave small stress balls and herbal tea bags on my desk with a solemn, knowing nod. I couldn't even tell him to stop because it would look like I was in denial. I still have a drawer full of lavender tea.

His manager said, “We’re making a business decision.”
What happened next was even stranger.
The company had contacted HR after learning what my friend was asking for in salary.
They realized they couldn’t match it.
Instead of increasing his pay, they decided to replace him.
My friend left with his laptop, his badge, and a two-week severance package.
A few days later, the company he interviewed with called.
They offered him $88,000.
He accepted.
Three months later, his old manager called.
They had struggled to replace him.
He offered my friend his old position back.
This time, the salary was $96,000.
My friend laughed.
“I’m good.”

UPDATE: when I went to check on my stuff a few minutes later and add a dryer sheet, a large, dumpy, "headphones adult" with rainbow hair was going in while I was leaving the laundry room. She asked if my stuff was waiting and told me she's moving her laundry right now. I politely informed her there's no need, because it's on the table. She looked completely perplexed, mouth agape. So to connect the dots, I informed her that it's been sitting in there for quite some time and I moved it.
She began to get angry and started fidgeting and asking why I would do something like that. I mentioned there's a social contract and she should set an alarm for the time that the machine tells you it'll be done.
She began crying, tell me that I shouldn't have done that, she can't believe I touched her underwear, and that she has OCD and has to rewash it.
I then informed her that no, I did not touch her underwear, I grabbed an entire ball of laundry and put it on the table. She then ran towards the laundry room crying and yelling about her OCD.
As the door was closing behind her I said
"I hope things get better for you!"
