Lover of Activism. Writer. Genderqueer. Mx. Parent of a brilliant writer, adult trans kid. Good crow neighbour. Sarcastic friend & curser. Mad. Chronic pain.
I frequently encounter cis parents of trans kids who are resistant to education because it is making them feel badly.
Yes - that can happen when we’re faced with our privilege.
Most of us have needed to sit quietly in discomfort at some point.
This is a good sign!
So Elon goes "Kill the Bill!" and Trump goes "Elon has TDS!" so Elon goes "I'm the reason Trump won!" so Trump goes "we waste billions on Elon!" so Elon goes "Epstein!" and a flunkie goes "Deport!" and Elon goes "Impeach!"
And THAT'S why women are too emotional to be President.
… it’s almost as if the average Canadian prefers addressing the cost of living and the threat of annexation and NOT calling him out for having an adult nonbinary kid.
I will never forgive the reporters who are treating this like a regular election.
“Talk about the energy in the city” — no, my man, talk about the white nationalism. Talk about the immigration app going down. Talk about the erasure of trans people. Talk about the Nazi salute.
If I use my Canadian X gender passport to go to the US will I magically stop being nonbinary?
All of the posturing & legislation will never erase me: the cruelty is the point.
I will always stand with my nonbinary siblings. I am here, you are here, and we will persist. 👊🏻
Their trans youth are often anxious and/or depressed by the time the families find us. They’ve heard all of the anti-trans rhetoric and they’re sometimes unsure about gender affirming care. This exercise is so uplifting and melts away many concerns. Youth thrive when supported.
At the end of every year I ask the parents in the support group for families of trans & nonbinary kids about the positives their children have experienced and - without fail - they go on about the joy and gender euphoria their trans youth are experiencing with affirming care.
All this does is embolden relatives, who are spending time with trans kids over the holidays, to say harmful things to some of the most vulnerable people on the planet.
Anti-trans rhetoric and lack of family support kills trans kids. #protectTransKids
Back-to-school reminder that in Canada trans & nonbinary students are legally allowed to use whichever school washroom they’re most comfortable in.
Every year I hope I won’t encounter a family that has faced pushback about this & every year I’m disappointed.

@trend_sarah She’s not a small community fanatic — she’s a billionaire with unlimited reach and influence, who is calling for disclosure of private medical information because she’s personally unsatisfied. That’s horrifying.
I see the people fighting back but I wish it was everyone.
I don’t know why more women aren’t scared about the constantly changing, anti-trans goal posts.
If female athletes present more feminine outside competition they’ll be mocked and only DNA proof will do.
You see how these gender investigations will never end, right?
I love the way most people are finding silly things to get excited about during these Olympics like Pommel Horse Guy, that surfing picture, Yeji & Dikec, etc.
How can you witness all of that joy and still yell “That’s a man!” because an athlete is good at their sport?
I recently had violent spasms that required weeks of hospitalization and rehabilitation. When I got home I watched I Am : Céline Dion (because that’s my lady) and cried in solidarity
Now she’s the undisputed winner of the Paris #Olympics and here I am again 😭
Deeply disappointed to learn that funding has been cancelled for the wastewater surveillance program in Ontario.
This has been critical information not only for COVID-19, but other infectious disease threats (Influenza, RSV, MPox, Polio & now H5N1) in Ontario.
