@ClassDojo Just created my classes. Excited to introduce Dojo to students on Monday as a way to share learning with their parents. We're creating connections in WISD. #morethanagrade
Check out my classroom on @DonorsChoose! I'd love your help to bring my first project to life: https://t.co/Rn3c3rwJGU

@iTEACHAmy A4: I feel as if I could read it five more times and see something new each time. It will give teachers a starting point, remind them they have a "coach" in Lucy, and help them see the pattern more clearly. #roosread
@iTEACHAmy A3: For me, it's just too early to start thinking about my own unit. At some point, it should be the goal because it should become second nature. #roosread
@iTEACHAmy A2: Not there yet. Need to get through a few of Lucy's before I attempt. It is all a pattern, and once I learn it and my kids embrace the structure, I'll branch out to authoring my own. #roosread
@iTEACHAmy A1: I'm reminded it's crucial to know my ELLs' level of language acquisition so I can plan the right, concise minilessons. Also, use writing in the air and having them "storytell" befor they write.#roosread
@iTEACHAmy A5: I appreciate the fact she understands setting up and maintaining the workshop model can be challenging, so she gives a wide variety of suggestions for each step. I can refer back to this guide again and again and see something new each time. #roosread
@iTEACHAmy A4: Conference records are the key for me. Looking forward to keeping detailed notes about each student as we confer. This means I'm teaching that student what he or she needs and not expecting everyone to do the same task or be at the same level. #roosread
@iTEACHAmy A3: I like how she gives guidelines (a few children or small groups each day for four or five minutes). I also like how she said a child could follow her as she confers. I never thought of that! #roosread
@iTEACHAmy A2: Consistent, purposeful implementation of the four components establishes a structure during writing that students will come to expect. #roosread
@iTEACHAmy A1: The mini-lesson component in workshop is different although I did use mentor text. I realize now everything I did was a large group assignment. That does not align with workshop. #roosread
@iTEACHAmy A4: It creates structure and daily expectation for both Ss and Ts. It's not that much different than what I have done in the past, but I will work harder on time management so the writing becomes the priority. #roosread
@iTEACHAmy @ShawnaFord1 A3: Getting an "author's chair;" creating bulletin board in 5th gr. hall to showcase snippets of student work; use page on my website for the same snippets so parents can see the examples; still exploring safe global options #roosread
@iTEACHAmy A2: I'm also not going to be afraid to provide pens! No more eraser marks and writing that is so light it can't be copied with the photocopier. Definitely going to have "publishing" paper this year as a writing material.
