No matter how slow today feels, progress is still progress. Keep showing up. One day you’ll look back and realize the moments you wanted to quit were the moments that built you. Stay patient. Stay focused. Your time is coming.
🗣️ "I'm not sure if VAR is still working at World Cup."
Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz believes his side should have had a penalty in draw against England.
Prince Kwabena Adu you’ve failed the entire nation! I don’t think we will see him again in this World Cup! This is Simon Adingra level of disasterclass
Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare plays for Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.
He’s spent his entire club career in Ghana.
Now he’s kept a clean sheet against England at the World Cup, a nation whose players all feature in Europe’s top leagues 😮👏
Ghanaians operating a shop in South Africa were reportedly attacked and robbed by two armed men.
The assailants tied up a man and a woman, gagged them to prevent them from calling for help, and fled with stolen items from the shop.
An allowance exists to facilitate service. If the cost of reporting for duty has risen to the point where many service personnel must rely on parents, relatives, loans, or additional income just to complete a compulsory national assignment, then the allowance is no longer fulfilling its intended purpose.
Whether GH¢715 is called a salary or an allowance is beside the point. The real question is whether it reasonably enables a service person to undertake the service the state requires of them.
If national service is important enough to be compulsory, then the support provided should be sufficient for the average service person to carry out that obligation without undue financial hardship.
we should be advocating for NSS allowance to be increased from 715cedis ($63) to something more reasonable.
taking home $63 after 30days is criminal. we need to change that.
considering the cost of living in our country, giving a university graduate 715cedis monthly, is w!ckedness. we shouldn’t entertain that.
nobody should sit in the office and even be happy about this. we have allowed these things for too long.
The truth is that National Service Personnel are not paid on time. You can’t even budget properly with money you’re not sure of receiving.
Nonetheless, NSPs still show up for work. How do they commute? How do they feed themselves? How do they pay for utilities? Especially when a good number of us are posted far from home.
While people working with private companies often have their feeding, transport, and other needs taken care of, the rest of us depend on family support, loans, friends, and so on.
I don't really engage these tweets but funny thing is as this young man is advocating for the betterment of NSS personnel, see people insult him in the comments for calling for advocacy to increase it. Strange!
before 2017 it was — 350cedis
January 2017 increased to 559cedis ($50)
January 2023 increased to 715cedis ($63)
paying a university graduate 715cedis monthly to serve the nation is w!ckedness.
@EiiScanty Which means NSS Personnel receives 25 cedis everyday
How are you going to pay your utility bill, buy food and pay your transport from that amount?
why are you offended by calls for increment?
You think this is about me? or i have been paid to ask for increment ?
My concern is for the 1,000’s of graduates trying to survive on ¢715 an allowance that’s often delayed for months.
The same young people you see in DMs asking for coins.
If $63 is already too little and it still can’t be paid on time, then the system is failing them.
do you know how bad it is for a university graduate to be taking $63 as allowance for working 30days?
Went through the CS and I can see lotta them are stup!d
Because you took 599 it should remain like that?
Another year in school why don’t they let you choose where you want?
They post someone somewhere he doesn’t know anyone and give the person GHC 715 and y’all mf should know, NOT everyone is fortunate that their parents still give money to
If you post a person to far place you should know you’re taking him from his people and no one there to save him
