Part of the teaching of history is learning from the mistakes of the past. If we pick and choose the history we teach and only teach the parts that make our country look good, then we are doomed to repeat the same mistakes for generations.

If we are going to teach students American history then it needs to be the full accurate history. The good, bad, and ugly. Including how this country treated Native Americans, Black people, people of color, lgbtq people, and any other group that our society has marginalized!
