🚨NEW: Bill Maher tells @ChrisCuomo his Dem-loving parents may have been Trump supporters if alive today because of how woke the left has gotten🚨
"My parents, who loved your father, loved Kennedy. My father, very Irish, loved the Kennedys. I mean, [he’s] been gone these 30-something years. I don't know where his politics would be — a dyed-in-the-wool Kennedy liberal Democrat. If he came back and saw some of the sh*t that was going on on the left. And my Jewish mother — if she saw them chanting for Hamas— I can't guarantee they wouldn't be for Trump."

@drmichaellevin@northadapt That was my impression, many pemf claims but little is known.
I’ve had life changing benefits from a ton of TMS for a mystery neuro motor condition. Same basic stimulation type. Many questions about how it works, I gather.
@drmichaellevin@northadapt Any opinion on PEMF machines like these and the claims of affecting ion channels? The machines do say do not use if pregnant but that might be because they produce muscle contractions. https://t.co/157LF16Ce2
#kwawesome@citywaterloo is discussing SIDEWALK snow clearing today at 2pm (its currently a DIY system!). Give them your 2 cents. THREAD
So temp bike lanes were great but now we're back to the city that won't even clear sidewalks - in a pandemic!
I don't blame the people who don't clear the walkway though. No one ever clears the intersection-corners.
I've heard it would cost $30 in taxes for the city to clear the walks.
Meanwhile, we're spending ever more on police and now adding this to the enforcement ledger.

...They are talking about more enforcement. Hard pass! The whole scheme is a nonsensical fantasy of individualism.
You clear your 'own' sidewalk of snow. If ur neighbors (often landlords) don't do their's, you're to call the city every time on every sidewalk on your commute!
Today, I spoke to the @UWaterloo Board of Governors about #divestUWaterloo. After 5 years of discussion, we've been sent back once again to provide the Finance and Investment Committee with "more information".
📢 Waterloo is late to the party. We need swift and decisive action.
@UWaterlooPres didn't #divest from fossil fuels before UWs coal investments tanked (our first warning to them was 2015). Now it is oil investments have tanked.
You can learn more next week.
The #divestment campaign at UW has upped its game since I left. More signatures than ever drawing in more staff and faculty than ever.
And a great little video here! Please watch and support before the upcoming board meeting.
1800+ students, faculty, & staff are calling on @UWaterloo Board of Governors to #DivestUWaterloo. I support this call. Sign the letter ⬇️ & retweet to join in! https://t.co/usaPxjLag8 https://t.co/KWO2YyBBfR
EVs alone can't cut emissions fast enough. We need fewer car trips and more efficiency.
IMO, more efficiency is, purely technically, a no-brainer but is politically fraught - 'how much pollution is ok' has been a weak debate framing.

ICYMI? I've been missing a lot so I'll be tweeting about yesterday's energy/climate news.
I might rage-tweet at our failing societies the evenings too.
A city that leaves it to individuals to clear snow, makes everyone call to report the many people who don't clear 'their' sidewalk... The crap results are no surprise.
@citywaterloo cut out this BS and raise the taxes to clear the snow!
Every winter we match seniors in need with those able to clear snow. ☃️ This season we're looking for workers in the Eastbridge and Willowdale areas (N2J and N2K postal codes). See contact details below.
It isn't that Canada isn't doing enough on reconciliation. That's too generous for a country still fighting the survivors of a campaign of cultural genocide.
Today we call upon @JustinTrudeau to stop perpetuating the historical trauma by dropping its prolonged legal battle against survivors of St. Anne’s residential school. It’s time to stop fighting & let the healing process begin.
@sandstormsuf Yes, the energy source matters but electrification reduces the primary energy needed - its so much more efficient so it does help. Plus, India's electricity sector is already transforming (if not nearly fast enough) so its skating where the puck is heading (in Canadian speak).
@billmckibben Here is more visual evidence of the change since 2012: oil companies are no longer pitching* endless emissions growth.
*As they say 'neutrally forecasting'.

What happens when today's investors and policy makers see tomorrow's #fossilfuel developments as a liability and a threat? @ydstrauch, @truzaar and @AngelaVCarter argue that reframing future climate risks can transform politics and finance as we know it 👉 https://t.co/2YnoqskHIf
