I'm retiring the "Yeahsure Editorial" name—but not my freelance editing work! Yeahsure was an in-joke for about three people and was never official in any business sense. Please follow me @SMichaelPearson on this site or, preferably, as scottpearson on the blue site.
DISQUIET GODS by Christopher Ruocchio: The sixth novel of the galaxy-spanning Sun Eater series merges the best of space opera and epic fantasy, as Hadrian Marlowe continues down a path that can only end in fire.

When I’m not editing, I’m writing, like for the #MultiverseOfMystery, an anthology of genre-bending Sherlock Holmes stories, now open for funding on Kickstarter! Lots of great authors and stretch goals! Check it out! https://t.co/vXjSttQLsD
My February work calendar is still almost completely open! If you're looking for a copyeditor with decades of experience (take a look at https://t.co/MTjmZyAStJ to see what I've worked on) DM me and let's see if we can work together.
What am I up to this morning? Having a nice cuppa while copyediting the forthcoming Sherlock Holmes novella from @CDanAbbott... https://t.co/OtFXWtZgfs
MS Word doing that thing where spellcheck doesn’t recognize contractions, and it’s also randomly checking some words against languages other than English. It wants to change “is” to “ist.”
I’m no longer surprised by MS Word’s Editor function being a piece of shite, yet I am still surprised at how it can continually come up with new ways to be a piece of shite. #amediting
Two main projects today: Finish copyedit that’s due and make some red sauce. First pass through copyedit done, now sautéing some onions. Once sauce is simmering, I’ll be back to do spell check on manuscript and tie up any loose ends from my notes. #amfreelancing#amediting
You may have an incredible plot, great characters, & interesting scenes, but if your writing doesn’t hold up on a sentence level, it’s unlikely you’ll retain readers.
Here are 5 sentence-level mistakes I’ve seen new & seasoned writers make — & how to fix them (an #amwriting 🧵):
Word lists all the changes I've made in 6 pages of copyediting—including 2 lengthy queries—as having taken place "1 hour ago," which, when subtracted from the current time and compared to when I stopped, means I did all that in -5 minutes.
WOW. After the latest update, Word’s custom dictionary and spell check features worked for me the way they’re supposed to for the first time in I don’t remember how many years. Fingers crossed it stays that way, but I’m not optimistic!
