เด็กคนนั้น เล่นเครื่องดนตรีไม่เป็นเลย และในช่วงเริ่มต้นของโปรแกรมก็ค่อนข้างเงียบ ไม่ค่อยแสดงอารมณ์

วันหนึ่ง ขณะที่เด็กคนอื่น ๆ กำลังเล่นเครื่องดนตรีของตัวเอง เด็กคนนั้นพูดกับตัวเองด้วยสีหน้าหม่น ๆ ว่า

“ผม/หนูเล่นเครื่องดนตรีไม่เป็น...”

ในตอนนั้น #Suga ที่อยู่ใกล้ ๆ เดินเข้ามาเงียบ ๆ แล้วพูดว่า

“เสียงของเธอก็เป็นเครื่องดนตรีเหมือนกันนะ [ชื่อเด็ก] แค่ร้องเพลงก็ได้~”

ทันทีที่ได้ยินแบบนั้น เด็กคนนั้นก็ ยิ้มสดใสขึ้นมาทันที และเริ่มร้องเพลงเสียงดังอย่างกะทันหัน
เป็นช่วงเวลาที่ทำให้ทุกคนทั้งประหลาดใจและซาบซึ้งใจ

วันนั้น เด็กกลับบ้านไปแล้วพูดกับคุณแม่ซ้ำหลายครั้งว่า

“แม่! ครูมินบอกว่าเสียงของผม/หนูก็เป็นเครื่องดนตรีนะ ตอนนี้ผม/หนูจะร้องเพลงแล้ว!”

เมื่อคุณแม่มาที่เซสชันครั้งถัดไป เธอเล่าเรื่องนี้ทั้งน้ำตาคลอ

เพราะโดยปกติเด็กคนนี้มักตอบคำถามของฉันสั้น ๆ เท่านั้น และแทบไม่ค่อยพูดระหว่างการบำบัดเลย
นี่จึงเป็นเคสที่มีความหมายมาก ที่ดนตรีทำหน้าที่เป็นสื่อกลางก้าวข้ามข้อจำกัดของภาษาและการแสดงออกทางอารมณ์ และดึงศักยภาพที่ซ่อนอยู่ของเด็กออกมา

พูดตามตรง ก่อนโปรแกรมจะเริ่มขึ้น ก็มีความกังวลว่า #Suga จะรู้สึกลำบากไหมกับการได้พบเด็กที่มีภาวะออทิสติกขั้นรุนแรงเป็นครั้งแรก

แต่เมื่อเซสชันเริ่มขึ้น เขากลับเป็นคนที่ เข้าหาเด็ก ๆ ในระดับเดียวกับพวกเขาได้มากกว่าใคร อ่านลักษณะเฉพาะตัวและความยากลำบากของเด็กแต่ละคนได้อย่างละเอียดอ่อน และค่อย ๆ นำพวกเขาอย่างเป็นธรรมชาติ
