The youngest Ukrainian Defender who returned home today is 27 years old, while the oldest is 62.

Among those returning home today are a dad and son. They served in the same brigade defending Ukraine and were taken prisoner one day apart in 2022.

On Thursday, I voted for the Ukraine Support Act, one of only 18 Republicans who sided with Democrats in the House to advance aid for Ukraine and strengthen sanctions on Russia. HODGES: For Russia, it's absolutely humiliating, for their military and government, that Ukrainian drones flying almost uninterrupted through Russian airspace to hit targets deep inside Russia.

The ones that hit St. Petersburg traveled about 5 hours through Russian airspace. How embarrassing that Russians couldn't identify it, track it, or knock it down somewhere along the way.

I think Russians will continue doing the only thing they can do, which is to hit civilian targets. They're not gaining anything on the ground. The great Black Sea Fleet is no longer a factor, and they can't seem to stop Ukrainian attacks of different types.

The one thing that Ukrainians have not been able to completely stop, for now, is Russian missile attacks against Ukrainian civilian targets.

And what utter nonsense when Kremlin talks about how they have to retaliate somehow, or that somehow Ukraine is the aggressor.

This was a message from residents on the outskirts of Kherson.

After this, the situation escalated further. Their home and nearby areas were hit around three more times. They and their neighbors fled the houses and ran toward the city. Everything was on fire, drones were still overhead. On the way, they saw at least two bodies lying on the road.

The family has since left Kherson and evacuated to Mykolaiv. Their lives are no longer in immediate danger.

This is the reality Ukrainians are being forced to survive.

I live in a small ruby-red MAGA town in Florida. I’ve known plenty of hardcore MAGA people, business owners, old-timers, people I disagree with on a hundred different things. Some of them say shit that makes me roll my eyes, like worrying about black students in their children and grandchildren schools here, you know, old racist shit hurts their rectums daily. But you know what? Most of them supported Ukraine from day one.

I remember one local business owner thanking me because I’m Polish and because Poland was helping Ukraine so much from the first day of war, my friends and family were literally driving to the border to pick up the whole families running from Russian invasion and host them in their own home at their own cost. That stuck with me.

That’s why this whole thing is so bizarre.

The people screaming the loudest online about helping Russia or abandoning Ukraine don’t even represent a lot of the regular folks I meet every day. Even MAGA loons.

Anyway, Russia wants America weaker, always did.

A weaker America means a weaker NATO, a weaker West and more room for Russia to throw its weight around.

The real Hyparadox is watching people who call themselves the biggest patriots in America spend years pushing narratives that benefit America’s biggest geopolitical adversary.
