@X In year five we have been looking at graphic scores for the song 'Walk like an Egyptian.' We have also learnt to sing a new song called the 'Gift of the Nile.'

Year 5 have been working on 'rock and roll' music. We have learnt it originated in America. We have learnt a hand jive and how to play a walking bass line.
Well done to those year fives who have kept their reading records going since September! Remember to bring them in on a Tuesday to get them checked. New records are available in class if you need one. Try to read for 10 minutes at home each day.
This week in science, we have started our new unit on forces. We will be linking this to our work in Design and Technology. Check out the homework list and try making a model boat. Can your child tell you what forces are acting on the boat?

In Literacy we have been looking at the story 'The Lost Happy Endings.' We have created a shared poem using descriptive language we generated from our trip to forest school.

This week, for anti-bullying week, we have been discussing the statement- 'if it's not happening to me, it's not my problem.' This led to a class debate and a lot of changes in opinions. #haveyoursay
We have finished our swimming this term and have had a great time learning life saving skills. Our PE sessions will now be on Wednesday afternoons in the hall. Pupils can come to school in their PE kits on Wednesdays.
