A serious Texas criminal appeal can easily cost $30,000 to $75,000 or more, especially when jury-charge error, self-defense instructions, and post-conviction review are involved.
It looks from his family’s GiveSendGo fundraiser that the appeal will not be a problem.
Two Black boys running a lemonade stand received an unexpected show of support after someone called 911 on them. Instead of shutting them down, Kansas City police officers and firefighters showed up to support them, helping them earn hundreds of dollars. This is what community should look like! Investing in our youth instead off discouraging their entrepreneurship. ✊🏿
On February 3, 2023, Two white Prosper ISD students ( Alec Ray Adamson 17 years, Mason Enslow Schiller 18 years ) fatally shot a black 19 year old David Noel Pleasant at a playground in Little Elm, Texas.
As Pleasant exited a car attempting to run away from these two white supremacist. Adamson got out of the vehicle and shot Pleasant in the back of the head.
They later sped away and took police on a chase, crashed the vehicle, then fled on a foot pursuit.
Both charged with First Degree Murder, Schiller testified against Alec saying they went to sell Pleasant weed and didn’t believe his friend Alec’s shooting was justified.
Schiller received NO prison time.
Verdict: In September 2025, Jury convicted Alec Adamson of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon rather than murder, sentencing him to 4 years in prison. Since the crime happened in 2023, he was immediately paroled. 😡
KARMELO IN FRISCO, TX just received 35 years for defending himself. 💔
THIS IS AMERIKKA ! 🚨
How did the white student who fatally stabbed a Hispanic student at a Texas high school have his charge reduced from murder to criminally negligent homicide, while Karmelo was charged with murder?
I don’t used the race card much, but this is RACIST.
THE JUDGE AND THE JURY IN THIS CASE IS RACIST!!
Let’s talk about jury selection, because the “his own attorney agreed to the jury” narrative that’s going around is an oversimplification.
Here’s how it actually works. Both sides, prosecution and defense, get a limited number of peremptory strikes, meaning they can remove a certain number of jurors without giving a reason. In Texas, each side gets 10. But those strikes are not unlimited and they are not all-powerful, because the law has guardrails.
The defense raised what’s called a Batson challenge, which is a formal legal objection used when one side believes jurors are being removed because of their race. This is extremely important. A Batson challenge is the defense literally telling the court: what the prosecution is doing is unconstitutional.
Defense attorney Mike Howard put it plainly to the judge: “Those three were 100% of the available African-American jurors.” That means it wasn’t a coincidence. It was the entire pool, gone.
The prosecution’s response was that the three women were struck because they were educators, not because of their race, arguing the case was “race-neutral” and shouldn’t require a diverse jury panel. The judge accepted that reasoning and overruled the defense objection.
So no, the defense did not simply “agree” to this jury. They fought it, the judge ruled against them, and they were left with no other options at that stage. That is how the system works, and that is exactly the problem. A defendant cannot force the court to seat a diverse jury. They can object, raise a challenge, but a judge can still say no.
Karmelo Anthony’s attorney did his job. The system just didn’t back it up.

GOD IS GOOD!!
Under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, Black unemployment reached its lowest level ever recorded in history. Now under trump, our voting rights are under attack, he’s ordered museums to change the way they cover slavery, he orchestrated the largest mass firing of Black workers in history, and has drastically cut funding to HBCUs. He is leading and encouraging a war against our community.
