Plus I think cake guy is probably autistic, which is another level of misunderstanding.

The double empathy problem.

Never ask an autistic person for our “honest” thoughts if you’re going to hold our honesty against us. Because we will tell you. Because you asked.

So don’t ask.

Identity first language is preferred by 89% of Autistics as per the 2022 poll of over 7.5k of Autistic people.

Can people share this please, we’ve just had Autism Acceptance week and the amount of people including Autistics I still see using “People with Autism” is unreal. It really do be your own people 🤦🏼‍♀️.

Like many autistic people, I have Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), which means I will often refuse to do things not because I don’t want to do them per se, but because someone has *demanded* I do them (for me this doesn’t extend to polite requests, which I’m happy to fulfil).

I really can't imagine someone having a crush on me. I can't imagine someone thinking about me before they fall asleep. I can't imagine someone getting butterflies in his stomach when i say or even just smiled at them. I can't imagine someone smiling at their cellphone

Waiting for the day two writers secretly team up and write two versions of the same story from opposite points of view and publish them without telling anyone. Each version is missing crucial details the other one contains.

@SoulFirePhoen1x ...I thought I just wasn't eating enough, but I've certainly thought about it. It's been happening for years now, I just don't know when I can go to a doctor at this point

[heather/mimsey @mimseyhallows]
