So just a few days ago, I made a post about how Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu gave out ₦30 BILLION to his employees.

And I truly thought that was the peak.

Then something interesting happened. One of his employees (I guess) sent me a DM and casually said,
“Oga, he has been doing this for years.”

He mentioned 2021, that Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu had given out shares.

I was impressed.

I really was.

But my schedule over the week didn’t give me room to properly dig in.

So this morning, I deliberately took that journey, to verify, understand, and get context.

And BOOM 💥

There it was.

The grand story.

Waiting like a bo*mb ready to explode.

₦2 BILLION worth of shares.

Let me say that again.

₦2 BILLION worth of shares given to employees.

Not company shares.

But from his personal shareholding, given to long-standing employees of BUA.

ARE. YOU. KIDDING. ME?

What?!

In Nigeria??

In a country where many employees are treated as expendable.

Where loyalty is often repaid with silence.

Where some CEOs delay salaries or say, “manage till next quarter.”

How did a story like this not go mainstream?

I mean, how do stories like this not dominate our public conversations?

This was four years ago.

We were all active on social media.

How did this news not trend?

How did we miss such grace-filled, human, deeply intentional leadership examples?

Show citizens where the money goes. Publish outcomes. Measure impact. Earn credibility, don't demand it. This is not just a question of fiscal responsibility, it is the law government is obligated to.

At the same time, citizens too must be educated about tax optimization. Understanding reliefs. Income Planning. Using the law to get the best possible outcome legally. Because tax literacy is power.

When we do this, perhaps the conversation would shift from “Why should we pay tax?” to “How do we make tax work better for all of us?”

The Immediate Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority NIWA, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji has been picked as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming 2026 Osun governorship election.

Oyebamiji emerged in Osogbo after seven other aspirants unanimously agreed to step down for him.

Bola Oyebamiji who was one time commissioner of finance in Osun State in his acceptance speech promised put Osun back on track of development.

The Chairman of Osun APC primary Committee and Governor of Edo state, Monday Ophebolo who supervised the primary described the unity in the party in Osun as a signal for victory for the party in 2026.

Governors of Ondo and Nassarawa, Deputy governor of Lagos attended the primary.

Refrain from cheap blackmail if you can’t sell your incompetent one-term Governor Ademola Adeleke to the Osun people.

Frame 1. During the half-salary period(2015), Bola OYEBAMIJI(AMBO) wasn’t the commissioner for finance—During that period, you were with Bukola Saraki and you never came to Osun until 2022/2023.

Frame 2: In 2017, Aregbesola nominated commissioners and assigned portfolios for them. Bola OYEBAMIJI(AMBO) was appointed commissioner of finance in 2017. In 2017, he reformed the Ministry of Finance and grew the IGR from ₦6 billion where he met it, to ₦24 billion by 2022—5years!

Frame 3: Aregbesola left power in 2018. Before he left, workers' full salaries were paid! This full salary was made possible due to the revival of the Osun economy and with the help of BOLA OYEBAMIJI (AMBO)

Frame 4: “The transformation didn’t go unnoticed. In 2017, Oyebamiji was tapped once again, this time as Commissioner for Finance in Osun State. It was not an easy season—national revenue was thinning, state debts were mounting, and faith in government was wearing thin. The half-salary era began in June 2014 and lasted until September 2016, a nationwide fiscal crisis period affecting many states. Meanwhile, Aregbesola did not even have a cabinet for the first 2½ years of his second term. AMBO and others were only appointed in April 2017 and sworn in May 2017, a full eight months after the modulated salary era had ended.

So how can someone who wasn’t in government and wasn’t even appointed yet be the architect of a policy that had already stopped before he assumed office?

The man who paid half salary, put the state in the huge debt supported your principal to become Governor.
