My 8th attempt at the @AprilA2Z challenge. https://t.co/NwT2kiUObg In these days, how many people send letters by Post? Do we notice the stamps affixed on the envelopes? India Post has issued beautiful stamps on diverse themes. This April I will highlight a few of them..
Choose a starting point based on where you can park or nearest metro or where a rickshaw can drop you. Then create your route darshan /pandal hopping route. This seems useful for those planning #Ganapati darshan. https://t.co/7PKUJ8hXrI

@gauripokhariyal@onlymilind1 Wow! I think there was some kind of a nass blooming in #Pune on 17th/18th. Couple of my friends also had their #Epiphyllum bloom. As did mine! The first ones on my plant!
MUST WATCH video for all the well meaning people who want to conduct plantation drives on Pune's tekdis this year. Biodiversity expert Dr Sachin Punekar, explains very lucidly how unscientific mass plantation can damage an ecosystem and kill biodiversity.
In short (जनहीत में जारी)
1. If you must carry out plantation drives, do it ONLY in consultation with ecologists
2. Pune's tekdis have a dry deciduous, scrub and thorny forest plus grassland ecosystem. THEY SHOULD NOT BE CONVERTED TO DENSE FORESTS! By doing this you are destroying native habitat for insects, small fauna and birds.
3. Just planting native species isn't enough. Some native species are NOT recommended for tekdis. Plant ONLY the species that are indigenous to the hills. And don't just plant canopy trees, plant shrubs, creepers as well
For eg

@pargaien A huge Peepal with its home by a riverside park in #Pune. Its obviously very old going by its girth. Thankfully, when creating the Park, authorities retained this tree that must have been an original resident of the riparian habitat.
This world museum day...a fantastic #embroidery portrait of Late Mrs Kamalabai Kelkar that I saw at Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum. It looks more like a painting. Superb intricate work.
The photo does not do justice to the artist's work. #Pune#worldmuseumday
