Here's a breakdown of the time and investment in Break and Steal Eggs, along with the additional investment we had planned before the game was removed from Discover tabs.
- Sponsored row: $5,400
- Asset costs: $1,100
- Total spent: $6,500
- Time invested: 20 days of work (13 updates)
Additional investment planned: $4,000
Throughout this period, we've done live events and boss fights, built an active community, and achieved strong metrics. We were committed to improving this game but discover completely kicked us out with no support.
We also planned a streamer campaign to attract more players to our game and Fortnite. However, after the game was removed from Discover tabs, we decided to stop further investment and time.
We are sharing our experience to show how challenging it has become to gain and maintain exposure in discover, even with consistent updates, investment, strong metrics, and an engaged community. We've concluded that it's more so of a luck based system rather than meeting expected metrics or we're not getting enough data. #UEFN

Many of our game similar to this died off within a week or two, and we couldn't figure out why, until we realized that we haven't been updating our game and players got bored of it quickly.
So we aimed on adding content every 2 days. So far we've done 19 quality updates out of 30 days. Not a big win but we'll take it. #UEFN
Hey @FNCreate,
I appreciate the effort to combat spam maps and improve how Discover looks.
But negatively impacting the entire creator ecosystem instead of addressing the root cause isn’t going to solve the problem.
We’ve seen changes like this multiple times, and they’ve never actually stopped bad actors. If anything, they impact legitimate creators’ worse.
I understand the goal is to reduce Discover being flooded with identical thumbnails, but if the root issue is addressed and spam creators are reduced, that problem naturally decreases.
Then smaller, targeted improvements could be made instead of another large scale change that affects everyone.
How many more times is Epic going to make changes that impact the entire creator ecosystem instead of focusing on those actually causing the issues?
For example, two of my projects are being affected.
Color Drop Brick Battles appears to be flagged due to similarity with my original Color Drop. That’s intentional branding so players can recognize the series. Color Drop Jedi Training is planned to follow the same approach.
Zombielike is a completely original concept, with a thumbnail inspired by iconic zombie imagery outside of Fortnite. I haven’t seen any thumbnails within the ecosystem that it closely resembles.
At this point, I’m holding off on updating these projects. That’s not ideal for my players, but I’m not going to strip away branding and identity to work around a system that isn’t addressing the real issue.
I’ve invested significantly into these assets, and replacing them isn’t a reasonable solution.
The focus should be on addressing the source of the problem, not creating friction for legitimate creators.
We need to talk about this.
I’m asking the community to speak up and tag @FNCreate so this doesn’t go unnoticed.
The removal of the “Follow Creator” button from the Creator Profile Device is a big step in the wrong direction.
I’ll be honest, this doesn’t really affect me personally since I already have a strong following.
But that’s exactly why I feel responsible to say something.
This change hurts smaller creators the most.
No matter how good a map is, if players can’t easily follow you in the exact moment they’re enjoying your work, conversion drops massively. That moment matters.
I also understand the concern:
some creators have been forcing the “Favorite Creator” using aggressive placement and positioning of the device.
But that’s a moderation issue, not a system issue.
Removing or limiting the device entirely punishes everyone, especially smaller creators, instead of addressing the actual problem. What we need is better guidelines and enforcement, not the removal of a key growth tool.
This will lead to:
-Bigger creators staying on top
-Smaller creators struggling to grow
-Less competition and fewer new opportunities
We should be pushing for a system that rewards good maps and talent, not just existing audiences.
If you care about the future of UEFN, please tag @FNCreate and share your thoughts. The more voices, the better chance this gets reconsidered.
