@mirai_prskaka but its mostly because of that awkward distance with nakayama that forces that early corner. something like yasuda, it really just boils down to the horses' preferences

i think what some people need to learn about gate draws is that a lot of the times whether a gate is “good” or not depends a lot on the horse, their preferences, and how well they can use it to their advantages. i see too many takes that are convinced every outer gate draw = bad

@mirai_prskaka it worked especially well for lovcen because he most definitely has the stamina to handle sitting on the outside for the entire distance, no compromise needed

and yeah, arima is probably the one G1 where there is a real disadvantage to the outer gates
