Great has been the journey of walking side by side with you. And so today, on your 78th birthday, is a gift to me, to have the world join me in doing what I have spent 58 years doing: celebrating you.

With you, the weight of the assignment has always been a lighter cross to carry. Our two have agreed, and so our walking together has been of divine stride, a race continuously illuminated, step after step, decade after decade. My path shines brighter because I walk it with you.

Many people know you as Mummy G.O. I have the privilege of knowing you simply as my wife, my friend, and the person who has stood with me through every challenge, every victory, and every assignment God has given us. I have watched you give strength to others even when you were tired yourself. I have seen your quiet sacrifices, your compassion, your wisdom, and your unwavering trust in God. Those are the things that make me thank God for you every day.

Our children have been blessed because of your love. The family of God has been blessed because of your devotion. Countless homes have been strengthened because you answered God’s call with all your heart.

Seventy-eight years of your life, fifty-eight years of them beside me, and still I find new reasons to thank God for you. You have been wife, counsel, and companion in every sense the word was ever meant to hold.

As you celebrate today, my prayer is simple. May the God whom you have served so faithfully continue to uphold you. May He surround you with His peace, fill your days with fresh joy, strengthen your body, renew your strength, and continue to satisfy you with His goodness. May the years ahead be even more fruitful than those behind, and may you continue to see the mighty hand of God at work in your life.

Thank you for walking hand in hand with me. Happy 78th birthday, my love.

Updated: in the course of the rescue operation, eight of the kidnappers were arrested and are now in DSS custody, while some of them were neutralised. There was no quid pro quo in the rescue as one of the terrorists, a kingpin, that the kidnappers demanded his release, is being prosecuted for his atrocities. The security agencies will give full account soon.

When I saw this video. I was angry, confused and concerned at the same time.
I knew this wasn’t Ai, why did he say this, in what context…then I stumbled on the 26 mins full video and understood the danger of cut and join videos.

I’ll put the link of the original full unedited video in the comment section, but for people that might not be able to see it, I’ll try to give a full recap of what the video entailed.

He started by saying, everyone will know what he wanted to say, let everybody shout hallelujah, then went ahead to explain that he was in USA for the church…the father of the convener of this program he spoke is his son…he waited behind to be a part of the program. He said he’s been briefed this is not a political gathering…

Talked about how people have accused him of being silent…and that the church is weak or something like that…how he prayed to God and God told him the children will be rescued, & some other things in that line.

He talked about the issues of insecurity in Nigeria, how people think he’s unconcerned because he’s a pastor in the south not north. How he has about 800 churches in the north. How a member of his church who did morning evangelism and talked about Jesus while passing in front of a mosque was killed by the Muslims in the north…how the case was not even investigated let alone, justice served…how people wanted him to give a go ahead for retaliation since they know the mosque it had happened…& he said No
How another of his pastor in the north was visited by Boko haram people and they slaughtered his twin children…

He went ahead to talk about Trump, that he’s not met him one or one, but he likes him because he’s a good politician…he follows through his promises or threat…a snide about a good politician knowing how to talk with the 2 sides of the mouth… Then said, when Trump earlier threatened to bomb Nigeria, he spoke on the first Friday of November

Advised the govt to do 3 things
1. Speak with Trump and ask for 100 days grace period
2. Speak with chief of all military parastatals, give them 90 days ultimatum to end it all or resign
3. Can’t remember the third thing

He said the President called the military, he didn’t know what he told them since he’s the commander in chief…but he knows on Christmas Day the land was visited by Trump.

Along the line he said, this is not him saying the government is doing nothing…That he’s doing his bit…that even Trump, that all he has to do was to give commands and bomb lands…

Also talked about meeting with the Tinubu and said the wife is his pastor…

At the end, he made comments about some untouchable people in the country, and that if an external force does not come, they can’t be moved.

He talked about the sponsor of terrorism that they are big people in places and they know them…

He said USA should join hands with other countries and please come and help Nigeria…

These are the things I could recollect from the video…now let me talk about my opinion.

1. It’s kind of a bit better for me to understand the context in which he spoke or said the things he did

2. Knowing it still did not excuse the fact that he tried to absorb Tinubu of his responsibilities. Trump will not just give instructions to his military men, he will ensure the instructions are followed through.

3. To me it’s like he’s saying there are people that are more powerful than presidency himself. People they know but can’t arrest…
Nah! Tinubu is just wicked…he will arrest them if he wants to. He’s changed almost all military parastatal heads…are they all still working against him?

If these ‘untouchable people’ were working against his political ambitions, he would have pulled them down…he’s using the insecurity to his advantage…he is putting Nigerians on the altar at the expense of holding on to power…he’s making alliance with these people, because Baba Adeboye confirmed that these people are known but can’t be arrested.

I will enjoin everyone to speak truth to power at every opportunity they have. I understand the need to be diplomatic and all that, but the life of the people being wasted should be more important than savaging a relationship…
