#Mowgli on #Netflix is yet another retelling of Jungle Book. No one seems to want to tell the story actually written by #Kipling that I love despite its implied racism. Anyway it was worth watching if not an all time great👍🏿

#ThePyramid was #HenningMankell’s book to cover some of #Wallander’s life before he suddenly burst on the scene in his 40s. You will only be able to put the book down with great reluctance once you start reading. It consists of 5 short stories.👌

Read & enjoyed all of Bernard Cronwell's Saxon Tales, Season 3 of the #LastKingdom series on #Netflix is a worthy depiction. Never as good as the books but worth the watch.A good blend of action, history, religious conflict & reflection👍

#OutlawKing gave #Netflix the chance for a more nuanced & deeper retelling of Robert the Bruce. Perhaps a reflection of his complex motives & sometimes flawed character. It was just another medieval blood & gore tale of violence & questionable patriotism👎

The beginning of #theBalladOfBusterScruggs appears to be a parody of the old west. But hold your horses. It gets better with each short story. Keep watching and you will see some great stories and good acting.👌

#Dynasties on chimpanzees narrated by #Attenborough on #BBC was a good watch. Not very scientific as it personalised the apes. Impressive nevertheless based on 20 years of field research and 2 years of filming in difficult terrain. Can’t wait for the next one👌

#Daredevil season 3, wow 😮. The right mix of plot, action & introspection. #Marvel & #Netflix got it right this time. Now if they could only do the same for some of the other superheroes. Most of them are either moaning or fighting all the rime👌

Watched #TheCrown on #Netflix principally because my wife wanted to.I was expecting the usual nostalgic, grovelling depiction of the royal family. Was pleasantly surprised by the warts & all portrayal👍

#SacredGames on #Netflix is the best Indian Indian detective series I have seen despite the awful dubbing & the hilariously mismatched subtitles. I would have liked a more decisive ending but the plot was great, the acting good, & scenery & costume authentic👏

Arbitrary detention, secret trials, and punishment without recourse to appeal in #China Thank god for #HabeasCorpus and #CommonLaw in #Australia. Something to fight for against all encroachment.

@FabrizioART @DeadpoolVol1 Yes indeed. I suppose they can change to another time line where everyone lives.

Watched #InfinityWar finally. The acting ranged from mediocre to sometimes good, the fighting scenes were a bit too long. But the final part had some real consequences at last. Superheroes actually died & the ending was enigmatic & unexpected. Worth a watch👌

#Jane a #Netflix documentary on the life of #JaneGoodall was a nostalgic trip down memory lane for me. I remembered reading #InTheShadowOfMan as a teenager in the 70s with fascination. Her description of chimpanzees is gripping👌

#BorderTown includes the modern Finnish version of Sherlock Holmes. Situated on the Eastern border with #Russia it includes glimpses into the #FSB & St. Petersburg. The conversations between the main actor, his wife & daughter ring especially true.👌

Partisan statements & clear lack of emotional control displayed by #Kavanaugh on Fox News & in the Senate would have disqualified him in any normal situation.Perhaps we are now in a #DreadScott era that led to the American Civil War.

Considering the enormous damage cats do to native fauna in Australia, applying the same rules for cats as already in place for dogs seems a no-brainer. Have pets by all means but keep them in control.

#TheMakingOfTheMob documents the rise of the American #Mafia. The true story is more intriguing than fictional accounts. Elements of this are in such works as #Goodfellas,#Godfather & #Sopranos. But who could make up characters like Lucky Luciano et al👍
