Bryan Cranston hits the nail on the head regarding the "Make America Great Again" movement.
Just because white Americans think that the past was "great" doesn't mean it was to ALL Americans. Civil rights in this nation have been progressively moving forward, and although racial equality is nowhere near where it should be in America, we are certainly a lot better off than we were in generations past.
When many African Americans hear the slogan "Make America Great Again" it certainly doesn't exude hope of a brighter future. In fact it likely puts dread into their minds that we could revert back to the 1950's or even worse the 1860's.
So when people point to MAGA as being a racist dogwhistle, they certainly have an argument as to why it can at least appear that way to certain groups of Americans.
Just finished #thetrojanhorseaffair and, if you're like me and disturbed by how one-sided it came off, you're not alone: https://t.co/gaPw5Y1coJ
@BriHReed what happened?
@pleo Maybe then tone it down a bit on the XeroCon stuff across social. It's coming off a bit tone deaf to be showing how much fun you're having while businesses who trust you are suffering due to the outage.
.@pleo Great you're having fun at #xerocon but Pleo has been down for *3 days*, meaning all of our company's finances, including all ads, aren't running. Can you fix that while having fun? We trust you with our finances and are being let down #pleooutage
@ovan @pleo Agree! 3 days and no comms whatsoever, meanwhile all our ad accounts and tools are paused... we have businesses to run and trusted @pleo #pleooutage
@lycamobile You did not respond. I had to continually contact you. You haven’t responded to any email sent to you since mid October. And then this is how your customer support treats people. You should be ashamed.
@LycamobileUK First email was sent 7 October. No response. Followed up 12 October. No response. Followed up again 26 October - think I got a response? Nope. So went to your Facebook messenger. Was told whole network was down & you’re saying it wasn’t. Stop pretending you care about customers.
.@LycamobileUK your “customer service” team say your network has been down since 26 October. This is probably something you should tell the public so they don’t pay for a network that doesn’t work - like I did. #lycamobileisascam#helpinghand
@LycamobileUK Why don’t you check the emails I’ve sent. Or the Facebook Messenger messages, or get your telephone support sorted…. So many ways to get the details of the complaints I’ve been trying to communicate with you since 26 October
