Fun Fact: The President of the goddam United States paid nearly $6 million in damages today to a woman he raped. Once upon a time, this would have been the only news you heard.
The Warren Commission conducted its investigation into the JFK assassination in 10 months.
The NBA investigation into whether it was ok for Kawhi Leonard to get $30m for doing nothing is now entering its 11th month.
again, big picture, donald trump won an election about affordability and then he
- passed tariffs (which raise consumer prices)
- expanded the deficit w a ginormous corporate tax cut (raises interest rates)
- waged a stupid war (raises gas prices)
- and now refuses to sign a bipartisan bill to reduce housing costs bc he's protesting senate republicans for failing to pass voting restrictions
... while making $2 billion from crypto rug pulls that transferred income from his supporters to his bank account
americans hate the president for very good reasons
ICE killed a father of three yesterday and no one is talking about it.
Lorenzo Salgado Araujo spent 35 years in Houston building homes and raising a family.
According to people interviewed, every night after work you'd find him on his porch, listening to music, petting his dog. He helped his three kids (U.S. Citizens) get through college.
It certainly seems that he was doing everything right, and then a federal agent shot him dead during a stop and his own son found out from a Facebook video, recognizing his father's voice as he lay bleeding in the street.
His son says that if his father had recognized any sign of law enforcement, he would have complied without question.
DHS says he "tried to run him over." This is the exact same lie they used to justify murdering Renee Good, a mother of three.
We are being asked to trust a rogue, lawless agency's word over a dead man's family, again, with no body cam release and no independent investigation.
Everyone should be outraged.
As a result there was more than 20m between buses on a busy route. As a result I will be late to a shift at a hospital. Not everyone can afford the costs related to vehicles and we should be encouraging mass transit. Please try to get this closer to right. @cityofsaskatoon
@stoontransit re: recent posted schedule, the bus is to arrive at 736 and 746 at 8th/clarence. I catch the bus at 6th 2-3 minutes away. Twice within a week the bus was early leaving this route the former time and late on the latter. I am a health worker relying on this service.
.@stoontransit What is up with the 17 to Place Riel this morning? I’m waiting at stop 4130 at 4th/Clarence since before 740am. The bus surely was way early. Next bus-arriving soon at 755am. No construction on this route I think? If you raise rates you need to provide reliability
Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas was caught sneaking out of speaker Mike Johnson’s office.
A Supreme Court justice should not have a private meeting with the speaker of the house.
What were they talking about?
Let me tell you what just got reported, because you will not believe it until you see it laid out.
The Trump administration cut a billion-dollar tungsten deal with Kazakhstan. Tungsten is the metal we need for missile warheads, fighter jets, and computer chips. Trump himself got on the phone to close it. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick worked it from the inside, sending letters, leaning on the Kazakh president, lining up as much as $1.6 billion in federal financing.
Within weeks of those negotiations, investors tied to a firm partly owned by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump took a 20% stake in an entity connected to the very same Kazakhstan project their father was negotiating. Around that same time, Cantor Fitzgerald, the firm run by Lutnick’s own sons, raised $210 million for a partner in the deal and pocketed the fees.
The fathers set the policy. The sons cashed in.
Six days after the Trump sons and their partners moved their money, Lutnick signed the final deal.
The reporting found one or both families have financial ties to at least 14 companies working with the government on critical mining deals.
The total federal funding flowing toward those companies tops $8.9 billion.
This is your tax money.
It is supposed to secure our supply chains and protect our troops, not pad the portfolios of the President’s children and the Commerce Secretary’s children.
This is the most corrupt administration in American history. It is not close.
We must keep digging, and keep asking the questions they do not want asked. Republicans in Congress are unwilling to lift a finger. Mike Johnson is running a protection racket.
Either we will end the corruption, or the corruption will be the end of us.

Actually @LaraLeaTrump the construction of Obama's library was privately funded by the Obama Foundation.
The reckless war your father-in-law got us into, however, has cost taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars in addition to squeezing them dry by sending prices skyrocketing.
Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.
