@DreamerYorkie@Sorelle_Arduino No, it is an anti-trafficking offence. It is an offence to pay someone with the intention to assault a child. (But if they call it “assault“ in the offence, the prosecution has to prove the elements of assault. Calling it “sexual services” makes it easier to ensure a conviction.)
@LokisHuman@Sorelle_Arduino EXACTLY. This is an important crime to keep on the books.
It does not replace the crime of assaulting a child, it covers another aspect of trafficking & a guy can be convicted of it even if he doesn’t “successfully” get access to a child.
@RumCoves@Sorelle_Arduino No, it’s to ensure they can charge & convict these guys of the payment offence even if the court find the actual assault is not proven, or if the guy pays for access to a child, but is caught before the assault occurs. It is a GOOD thing that this offence is on the books.
@Wommando@Sorelle_Arduino@maliamum It’s a separate offence.
E.g. A sting operation with no actual child -- the payment is still a crime. Or a paid assault of a child, but the judge finds it’s not proven? The intent of the payment can still be proven & he can still be convicted of this offence.
It’s a good thing.

@rtbrownjr@Sorelle_Arduino And for when they make an agreement & hand over money, but no actual child is assaulted—the payment is an offence in itself.
If there is no real child (e.g. sting operation) or the perp is not convicted of the assault on a technicality, he can still be convicted of this offence.
@LeftHandStu@terrynewman Aren’t you the weasely little twerp who practically collapsed into hysteria because a journalist you didn’t like was at a briefing?
You are the last person to be giving advice on what is & what isn’t accurate reporting.
@Glinner Not just ”tell” them.
“I Am Jazz” showed us that thousands—even millions—can watch it unfolding in front of their eyes, and they will refuse to see.
@Poppy_yyyyyyyy Put together a business plan—hotel business plan templates are available online to get you started. Take local or online courses on hospitality management as preparation.
A “wizard” theme hotel may be safer to avoid legal issues (Warner Bros controls a lot of HP trademarks).
@Bluehairisnice@KashPrime@Optikz78 Narcissistic personality disorder is a condition but not a disability, and nor is a service animal needed for the patient to function in daily life.
@FondOfBeetles I used to be anti death penalty.
I still mostly am, when proof is only “beyond all reasonable doubt.”
But when proof is beyond even fanciful/conspiratorial doubt (caught in the act or certain DNA evidence), I’m open to considering it.
That’s hard to legislate, though.
@Opiumbrella The thought of spay-abort makes me sad, but kittens having kittens makes me even sadder. She is too tiny to be shopping in the meowternity section. 😿
@Glinner Actually, it looks like also a nose job, blepharoplasty, and god knows what he had done to his forehead to get those monstrosities of eyebrows. Lip filler on the bottom, too.
The result being that he’s still a dude, only now he looks like a dude who has had bad plastic surgery.
