We are excited to share our perspective on building a multidisciplinary Amyloidosis program from the ground up. Challenges and ways we overcame them. Thank you @ACCinTouch for the platform to share our story @TJUHospital@CU_Cardiology https://t.co/DbQA7ls0nf
Meet the 2026–27 ARC Clinical Fellowship recipients!
Now in its second year, the program supports the next generation of #amyloidosis specialists through training, mentorship, and research opportunities to advance care and research.

Wrote this w/ my Dad (retired cardiologist) and my mentor @rcstarling re: the logic for studying digoxin in more advanced HF and/or Cardiogenic Shock. Guided by experience, we believe Digoxin is a tool in this patient population that is under utilized and needs study.
Rise in serum transthyretin (TTR) after tafamidis initiation is associated with improved survival and supports class effect of stabilizers among patients with #ATTR-CM.

Incidence of arrhythmias in patients with cardiac amyloidosis with routine ILR from National amyloidosis center.
Study cohort: 110 patients: 63 ATTR-CA (40 ATTR wild type and 23 ATTR variant) and 47 AL-CA
Median follow-up of 36 months.
@JACCJournals https://t.co/wdVo3Um4MZ
4) among patients who died, in ATTR-CA, the terminal rhythm was uniformly PEA. in AL-CA, PEA was the terminal rhythm in 80% and 20% had sustained VT
Importantly, all newly discovered arrhythmias were actionable and required intervention.
In ATTR-CM, atrial fibrillation is present in the majority of patients. The ATTRibute-CM trial showed that 69% of participants had AF at baseline, and many went on to experience new or worsening AF events during follow-up.
With patients living longer, the clinical burden of arrhythmias is becoming a central part of ATTR-CM management. AF is not only common but is associated with more advanced disease, higher NT-proBNP, worse functional status, and increased hospitalizations.
Our post-hoc analysis published in @JCardFail found that acoramidis reduced the frequency of recurrent new or worsening AF events by 26% versus placebo over 30 months, independent of baseline AF. There was also a numerical reduction in adjudicated AF-related cardiovascular hospitalizations with acoramidis.
These data add to the growing evidence that disease-modifying therapy can favorably impact multiple aspects of ATTR-CM beyond the primary heart failure endpoints.

In HELIOS-B, vutrisiran slowed renal decline in ATTR-CM: fewer ≥40% eGFR drops vs placebo (12.7% vs 21.2%).
Benefits on CV outcomes were consistent across kidney function, even in advanced CKD.
Improves not just CV outcomes but has renal benefits🫀🧪

Since management of High Risk-Smoldering Multiple #Myeloma often comes up in clinic these days (and leads to spirited discussions with trainees and colleagues), sharing my approach here on how I counsel patients on the use of single-agent daratumumab.
I am genuinely excited though about fixed-duration BCMA BsAbs in selected patients, and looking forward to more data in coming years!
my recent AATS Presidential Address. This was a difficult address to give. I don't like to talk about personal experiences and prefer to talk about surgery. Nevertheless, I am very glad I did it, and I hope it will serve younger surgeons well.

The treatment landscape for AL #Amyloidosis has been transformed—but how do we assess prognosis and progression in the current era? We reviewed the current evidence on prognostic factors and biomarkers for hematologic and organ progression in this special report, out today in @BloodPortfolio. @Amyloidosis_ARC@YevgeniyBr@awechalekar@MathewMaurer@kristennhsu

CardioTTRansform baseline characteristics presented at #HeartFailure26! Great work as usual by @MathewMaurer@escardio
Largest trial in ATTR CM with widespread use of stabilizers and more SGLT2i than other studies.
Comparison with other trials seen in the tagged pictures. We appear to have a cohort more similar to ATTRIBUTE CM in disease severity. HELIOS B still has the healthiest population.

Important progress for patients: @Bayer's I-124 evuzamitide met Phase III primary endpoints for sensitivity & specificity in #CardiacAmyloidosis diagnosis.
Pan-amyloid. Single scan. Could cut the 2-4 year diagnostic wait that delays #amyloidosis treatment
