Highlights include me trying to explain I’m prone to chest infections and say I have those symptoms to be cut off, and her to not listen to my chest which was half the reason I’d booked an appointment.

But there have also been so many lovely moments, and seeing so many young people flourish is exactly why I love my career, the highs outweigh the lows.

First year of teaching is nearly over here’s some highlights of my year that have really built my character:

Being physically pushed by a pupil and the school telling me there’s nothing they can do, yet when it happened to a member of leadership that pupil got excluded.

And my personal favourite: A kid screaming “fuck you” at me because they were out in a Drama game😂 it was so hard not to laugh at how pressed they were

I’m not hugely invested in politics but if I wake up to see Grant Shapps has lost his seat I will be throwing a party.

Today a child told me that my new hair made me look like their mum, I don’t even know if that’s a compliment or if they’ve prematurely aged me about 10 years

On todays edition of why am I paying to live here, we now not only have no heating, but no hot water too and our boilers dripping water LOL

After 6 and a half months of badgering and having to include the cheif financial officer in my emails uni FINALLY reimbursed my petrol for my second placement, today is a good day

Of course I’ve managed to lose my car key in london yesterday don’t know if it was on the train or at the theatre but KILL me now

Did I cry today because I got a thank you note from one of the kids in my form for thank a teacher day when across the board kids have just been vile this week. Yes I did, it’s the little things like that that make the bad days (or weeks) worth it.

But on a positive note I went from hating uni and feeling unsupported to being with the most supportive and positive mentor and department team who push me to be the best I can be so I’m thriving just got to pray a job offer opens up 🤞🏻

Sorry how does phase 1 of my placement end in 2 weeks ? Where’s the time gone and it means I have to start worrying about jobs 🙃😅
