But now that an American is coming to town, consumer/domestic focused policies are being deployed

Timmies could have done that since the start. But they chose not to. Cause they didn’t face meaningful competition

Now imagine if we allowed:

- American banks
- American telecoms
- American milk and other quota protected goods

The consumer would win

Quality would improve

Innovation would happen once again

While Canadian youth unemployment is in crisis and plenty of locals want the jobs, Tim Hortons keeps asking Ottawa for more TFWs.

Rempel nailed it: we need real labor mobility, skills training, and an end to the temporary foreign worker program (except legitimate seasonal agriculture).

This Pearson Airport story somehow keeps getting worse. W5 literally walked in from the street into the baggage pickup area and showed how easy it would allegedly be to grab a “drug bag” and leave. ...acquired @TimHortons and immediately took to betraying the communities they serve.

For those of you not in the know, 3G is a private equity firm and PE absolutely LOVES cheap labour.

The cheaper the better.

So they petitioned the government to import as many temporary foreign workers so they could get a hefty discount on labour.

Guess who pays the difference?
