President Isaias Afwerki received, at the Denden Guest House in the late morning hours today, senior Egyptian delegation composed of Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty; the Minister of Transportation, Lt. General Engineer Kamel Alwazir; and CEO's of several companies involved in the transport, energy and mining sectors.

The extensive discussions centered on further enhancement of all-rounded bilateral ties of cooperation as well as regional and international issues of mutual importance.

President Isaias underlined the significance of consolidating the all-rounded ties between Eritrea and Egypt to advance the mutual interests of the Eritrean and Egyptian peoples. In this respect, President Isaias expressed Eritrea's readiness to implement common projects in collaboration with Egyptian economic and trade companies.

Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, for his part, stated that the current visit was a manifestation and expression of the brotherly ties of friendship and cooperation that exist between the peoples of Eritrea and Egypt.

The principal purpose of the visit was to further consolidate economic and trade ties between the two countries in accordance with the guidelines charted out by President Isaias Afwerki and President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Dr. Badr noted.

On the occasion, the two countries signed an Agreement on Marine Transport "for developing cooperation in the sector with a view to contributing to the development of international shipping on the basis of the principles of the freedom of navigation".

The Agreement was signed by Eritrea's Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr. Berhane Tesfaselassie, and Egyptian Minister of Transport, Lt. General Kamel Alwazir.

#Eritrea: Independence Day Celebrations on full swing. Street Carnival at Martyrs and Liberation Avenues in Asmara this afternoon showcasing cultural dances and fielding more than 13,000 participants from all administrative sub-zones in the capital.

Photo exhibition and documentary films also featured in festive events organized by Eritrea's Defense Forces (yesterday); and the National Union of Eritrean women (this morning), respectively.

As part and parcel of the ongoing festivities for the 35th Anniversary of Independence Day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a Celebratory Reception yesterday evening attended by senior Government/PFDJ officials, Members of the Diplomatic Corps and all MFA staff.

The Permanent Mission of Eritrea to the United Nations hosted a reception commemorating #Eritrea’s 35th Independence Anniversary under the theme “Our Resilience: Our Guarantee.” The event, “Tastes and Sounds of Eritrea,” brought together Permanent Representatives, diplomats, senior officials from the UN Secretariat, representatives of regional organizations, members of the media, civil society organizations, and friends of #Eritrea for an evening celebrating Eritrean culture, heritage, and national resilience.

Eritreans working throughout the @UN system, as well as members of the #Eritrean community from the Greater #NewYork area, also joined the celebration, adding to the warm and festive atmosphere of the evening. Their participation reflected the strong connection between Eritreans at home and abroad and underscored the important role of the Eritrean Diaspora in preserving and promoting the country’s cultural identity and national values.

The reception showcased Eritrea’s rich cultural diversity through traditional music, dance performances, and authentic Eritrean cuisine representing the country’s various regions and communities. Guests were offered a vibrant cultural experience highlighting Eritrea’s long-standing traditions of unity, social cohesion, and hospitality. The evening also served as an opportunity for diplomatic engagement and cultural exchange, reflecting Eritrea’s continued commitment to constructive multilateralism and international cooperation.

In remarks delivered during the event, Her Excellency @AmbStesfamariam underscored the significance of #Eritrea’s independence as the culmination of decades of sacrifice and determination, while reaffirming the country’s commitment to sovereignty, self-reliance, and regional peace and stability. At the heart of this transformation are two of the Ministry of Agriculture’s most important scientific institutions: the National Agricultural Research Institute (NARI) and the National Animal and Plant Health Laboratory (NAPHL)".

The Institute has preserved more than 6,300 seed accessions representing approximately 160 species of crops and trees, safeguarding valuable biodiversity for future generations and providing essential raw material for crop improvement".

Currently, it analyzes approximately 16,000 samples annually.
