[Wes @ygticr]

@alexocheema Unrelated but are you going to be holding any other events in SF soon? I just got here, and your work (and exolabs) have inspired me to study/develop local AI, so I'd like to talk more about it! :)

[Ahmad @TheAhmadOsman]

To folks at Anthropic: History will judge us harshly, and deservedly so

Ask yourself honestly, are you building an open and free world for your kids or just cashing a bigger check?

Some decisions stick around a lot longer than the money does

Do better

@rloveution3 @dinggdongbitchh @swifttanic @buffys @PopBase Give me a prompt to test!

[Wes @ygticr]

@rloveution3 @dinggdongbitchh @swifttanic @buffys @PopBase Going back to what you said ORIGINALLY, check out my personal model answer a question on Airplane Mode, not querying or connecting to any external cloud compute.

[boom @rloveution3]

@swifttanic @buffys @PopBase Girl what? Ai is not powered individually by your phone and is in fact powered by data centres regardless.

[Wes @ygticr]

@rloveution3 @dinggdongbitchh @swifttanic @buffys @PopBase But that logic falls apart when you also consider your internet traffic amongst many things. If we follow your argument one can even argue that letting AI decide where to look up the answer to can decrease data center usage, compared to a human looking up multiple sources.

[Wes @ygticr]

@rloveution3 @dinggdongbitchh @swifttanic @buffys @PopBase …….And what do you think happens when you send a query to google manually?

The computing power required to run the models YOU need can fit inside your iPhone…

Mamas I TRAIN local AI to be as efficient and portable as they can be, don’t let this be the hill you die on like

[Wes @ygticr]

@rloveution3 @dinggdongbitchh @swifttanic @buffys @PopBase It doesn't take a lot of computing to answer a question/look up the answer to the question, so LOCAL AI can exist.

On the other hand, how much time do you spend on your social media apps that, y'know, talk to data centers and servers to process your feed?

[Wes @ygticr]

@temidaradev NAND'dan mı çalışıyor yoksa SD mi? Ve hızlı mı..........

[Wes @ygticr]

@alienchieftan @MaxNordau You talk about jumping ship but I bet it's just still too damn comfortable here for you isn't it?

You don't like it? You can go.

[Wes @ygticr]

@alienchieftan @MaxNordau Buddy I can't educate you on what the reality is. I'm not eligible for SNAP or EBT, or any type of housing assistance and I'm struggling here too. But even though I am struggling, I ALSO KNOW I'm protected by the lands of this country, and have privileges as an American...
