BREAKING: BANKS KEEP PICKING HEDERA
Hedera is governed by a council of companies rather than a foundation or open validator set Google, IBM, Deutsche Telekom, and FedEx all operate nodes.
Taurus completed an 18-month integration on August 5, bringing HBAR custody, staking, and tokenization to 40+ banks including Deutsche Bank and State Street, according to The Hashgraph Association. Worth noting: this confirms the tech is now available to these banks, not that any have launched live Hedera products yet.
🇪🇺 Massive use case for @Hedera!
@iobuilders created a European trading & settlement market on the @Hedera mainnet for Spain’s equivalent of the DTCC called Iberclear operated by @sixgroup.
Bonds. Equities. Banks. Public DLT.

From global supply chains to clean energy and manufacturing, Hitachi is using @hedera for real-world infrastructure at scale.
This is HUGE enterprise adoption in plain sight. $HBAR
🧵 Five Spanish banks just completed Spain’s first multi-bank pilot for tokenized bank deposits, powered by infrastructure built on @hedera technology.
ABANCA, Cecabank, Ibercaja, Kutxabank and Unicaja successfully tested programmable commercial bank money.
Behind it sits an interesting institutional stack:
ioBuilders. Asseto. HashSphere. Hedera.
Let’s unpack it. 👇
In July 2026, five Spanish banks completed Spain’s first multi-bank Proof of Concept for tokenized deposits:
• ABANCA
• Cecabank
• Ibercaja
• Kutxabank
• Unicaja
The initiative was orchestrated by Cecabank, with support from BCG and ioBuilders.
This wasn’t simply another stablecoin experiment.
The project explored tokenized commercial bank deposits.
The underlying money remains a bank deposit within the existing regulatory and accounting framework, while gaining properties of programmable digital money.

Programmability
The banks tested transfers of tokenized deposits between participating institutions.
The objective was to explore:
• 24/7 availability
• near-instant settlement
• programmability
• smart contract automation
• improved traceability
In other words, bringing bank deposits into programmable financial infrastructure.
Now comes the technology layer.
The infrastructure was provided through Asseto, developed by Madrid-based fintech ioBuilders.
Asseto is designed for the issuance, management and settlement of tokenized financial instruments and digital money.
And this is where Hedera enters the picture.
Asseto can operate across two environments:
Hedera Public Network and HashSphere, a private institutional network powered by @hedera technology.
This gives financial institutions a hybrid architecture depending on regulatory, privacy and operational requirements.
HashSphere brings Hedera’s underlying hashgraph technology into a private, permissioned environment designed for institutional use cases.
Banks can explore DLT while maintaining tighter control over participation, privacy and governance.
Public and private infrastructure don’t have to compete.
They can complement each other.
There is also a deeper relationship behind the technology.
Hashgraph and ioBuilders formed a strategic partnership and investment to accelerate institutional tokenization infrastructure and HashSphere.
Their collaboration around Hedera technology goes back years.
And that’s what makes the Spanish banking pilot interesting.
The headline isn’t:
“Five Spanish banks are using Hedera Mainnet.”
That would be misleading.
The bigger story is that Hedera technology is becoming part of the infrastructure stack being explored for institutional tokenization.
The architecture looks like this:

Asseto

Programmable institutional finance
This is infrastructure adoption, not speculation.
Tokenization won’t only be about putting securities on public blockchains.
Banks are also exploring how commercial bank money becomes programmable and can settle tokenized assets efficiently.
That’s where architectures connecting institutional and public DLT environments become increasingly interesting.
And Spain is becoming an interesting laboratory for this transition.
Just days later, ABANCA, Ibercaja, Unicaja and Cecabank were also selected for experimentation related to the Eurosystem’s Digital Euro initiative.
Separate projects.
But part of the broader transformation of European money and settlement infrastructure.
Five banks.
Tokenized deposits.
Institutional-grade DLT infrastructure.
Asseto.
HashSphere.
Hedera technology.
No, this does not mean Spanish banks are suddenly settling everything on Hedera Mainnet.
But it shows something more important:
Hedera’s technology is quietly finding its way into infrastructure being built for the next generation of banking.
Infrastructure usually grows quietly.
Until one day, everyone depends on it
One of @hedera 's biggest advantages? Predictable fees.
Unlike networks with fluctuating gas prices, Hedera's transaction fees are fixed, USD-denominated, and predictable.
That means developers and enterprises can budget with confidence no surprise spikes, just consistent costs.
There's no question @Hedera Council member @FedEx has plenty of ways to leverage the network. 👀📦
In this clip, the CEO of @iobuilders, creator of Asseto, explains how the new platform can be used for supply chain financing.
I'm sure FedEx is paying close attention.
🎯 A major milestone for 4DSKY: helping prevent its first potential near mid-air collision between two aircraft.
Thank you to everyone contributing data to the 4DSKY network. Together, we’re making airspace safer and enabling the integration of drones at scale!
🧵 A potentially serious accident was prevented.”
That’s the assessment of an airport manager after @4dskyapp alerted air traffic controllers during a near mid-air collision risk event.
Here’s why the technology behind it deserves attention. 👇
For decades, aviation has relied on centralized systems to share flight information.
They work well.
Until they don’t.
Modern airspace is becoming increasingly complex with drones, autonomous aircraft and millions of connected devices operating simultaneously.
That requires a different kind of infrastructure.
Instead of routing everything through central servers, 4DSKY uses a decentralized, edge-native flight tracking network.
Information is shared directly between professional sensors and participating organizations, reducing data silos and eliminating single points of failure.
The result is a more resilient picture of the sky.
But 4DSKY isn’t operating alone.
It is built on Neuron’s decentralized coordination infrastructure, designed to connect organizations, machines and sensors without requiring them to trust a central operator.
One coordination layer.
Thousands of organizations.
Billions of connected systems.
This architecture isn’t limited to aviation.
@Neuron_World is designed for environments where coordination across organizational boundaries is essential.
That includes:
• Aviation
• Defence
• Energy
• Transportation
• Space
• Robotics
Anywhere trusted coordination matters.
This isn’t just theory.
@Neuron_World previously demonstrated its technology during a UK government-supported drone radar trial, where decentralized coordination helped monitor beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) drone operations.
The goal was simple:
Create trusted, real-time situational awareness without relying on centralized infrastructure.
So where does Hedera fit into this?
@hedera acts as the network’s trust layer.
Every important event can receive an immutable timestamp through the Hedera Consensus Service (HCS), creating independently verifiable records that no single participant can alter.
For safety-critical systems, trusted data matters just as much as fast data.
Hedera also brings practical advantages for large-scale infrastructure.
Its predictable, USD-denominated transaction fees and high throughput make continuous recording of operational events economically viable.
When millions of sensor updates may occur, infrastructure must be both technically reliable and financially predictable.
The physical infrastructure is equally important.
Through its partnership with Jetvision, professional Airsquitter sensors become “Neuron-ready” and contribute real-world aviation data to the decentralized network.
This is a practical example of DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks), where independently operated hardware helps build shared infrastructure while participating in automated reward mechanisms.
The strategic relevance goes even further.
@Neuron_World was selected for NATO DIANA’s 2026 Challenge Programme, which evaluates dual-use technologies capable of operating in contested environments.
Why?
Because resilient, decentralized coordination becomes increasingly important when centralized systems may be disrupted by cyber attacks, electronic warfare or GPS jamming.
Taken together, the picture becomes remarkably clear.
@4dskyapp provides the operational application.
Neuron provides decentralized coordination.
@hedera provides the shared trust layer.
Three separate components.
One resilient architecture.
The best infrastructure is often invisible.
Pilots don’t need to know which distributed ledger secured an audit trail.
Air traffic controllers don’t care which consensus algorithm timestamps an event.
They care that the information is accurate…
…and arrives in time.
That’s exactly what this architecture is designed to deliver.
A highly underrated feature of @hedera.
Hedera’s fixed and predictable USD denominated fees are an essential prerequisite for us.
Otherwise we wouldn’t be able to offer fixed and predictable USD denominated protocol fees to our corporate clients.
