A Lyft driver says he picked up a woman carrying a suitcase that allegedly contained her boyfriend’s decomposing body and when he asked about the overwhelming smell, she reportedly told him it was just “dirty wet clothes.”
Authorities say 53-year-old Vincent Good was found dismembered inside a suitcase abandoned on a Philadelphia street after a neighbor noticed flies swarming around the luggage. Additional human remains were later discovered in nearby trash bags.
Investigators allege that Good’s girlfriend and caregiver, 53-year-old Liza Ridley, shot him multiple times in the head inside the home they shared. Police say she then enlisted family members to help conceal the crime and dispose of his remains.
According to reports, the suitcase was loaded into the back of a Lyft on May 22. During the ride, the driver allegedly noticed a strong odor and questioned it. Ridley reportedly blamed the smell on wet clothes before being dropped off several miles away, where the suitcase was later left on the street.
The next morning, residents spotted flies covering the luggage. When authorities opened it, they made the gruesome discovery.
After seeing news reports about the case, the Lyft driver reportedly contacted police, saying the woman from his ride appeared to be the same person connected to the abandoned suitcase.
Ridley and three relatives now face charges related to the killing and the alleged effort to hide evidence and dispose of the remains.
