@rpancost Yeah, I agree. So another question arises. Was the high GDGT-2/GDGT-3 ratio in the million-year-old sediments derived from the marine water column? How?
@rpancost What puzzled me a lot is that TEX86 for the lake sediments appears to not follow that for the lake water column. That means the effect of DO on TEX86 might not be preserved in the lake sediments. This also occurs in other deep lakes worldwide.
