Chance:
"Hey, be right with ya’.
Right now I'm on a roll with this coin flip.
Ten robux says that I reach fifty heads in a row by the time we finish talking.
..Aww, landed on tails.
Oh well! Better start again."

Question 1: "What are you up to?"

"Hm? Oh yeah yeah, I've been keeping myself entertained around here.
I mean, anything beats getting bored to death, right? Hah!
When I'm not by the slots, I'm usually off somewhere to practice my flintlock.
You should see me practice, I know a good few tricks with it or two!
Just be careful or you might get shot, haha!
..Kidding, kidding.
Jeez, lighten up a little. You look grim…
Look, it's not like nothing bad happens around here.
I just.. Try to have a little fun with it, y'know?
I'm not letting anything break up my stride, nothing's going to slow me down.
So just pick your chin up and enjoy the peace we have, alright?
Ah, wait, I think I'm getting sidetracked-
You asked what I usually do around here, yeah?
Well, the cafe usually brings me back to old times..
The inside's lighting and atmosphere reminds me of old parties I used to be a part of.
It's been a blast! You should totally come.
I downed like.. Half a dozen sodas last time I visited.
Nothing compared to Noob, though!
Man, let me tell ya'.. they sure can chug.
They outpaced me twofold!
You should've seen my face there!
Haha... well, other than the cafe, I spend my time looking over the different cabins here.
Merely & Seranok look like good folk, no?
I ask about their gears and discuss item values from time to time.
They were fun!
I also help place anything I find into the shed.
It's where we stuff items and junk that could be reused, repurposed, or recycled for later.
But I'd rather not bore you with all that stuff.
I spend a lot of my time by these machines.
Sure, there's nothing to spend it on, but it's still such a rush, you know?
Taking that risk and pulling that lever is fantastic stuff, makes you feel excited, doesn't it?
We should totally hang out some time!
Food & drinks too, my treat."

"Give me a sec, ‘k? I'm a little busy!"

Question 2: "What was your life like before this?"

"Oh, it was great! Really great stuff.
Tossing my hat in the ring.. winning big.. All-in-all, absolutely fantastic!
Didja know that my mom n' pop ran a casino?
It's crazy stuff, really.
I got the chance to play it when I was older, and I was hooked.
Blessed by Lady Luck herself, baby! I was in it to win it !!
Haha.. man, those were good times.
The slots here in the lobby weren't as flashy as the ones we had back home, but hey! It's somethin'.
I manage to snag a couple winnings every now and then.
Don't really know if it's from this place or if it was taken from somewhere else.
What's good is that it reminds me of back then; all the glam and splendour one could ever dream of from such a life like mine did.
When there's risks to take-and there will be-I'm always up for the shot.
That was my lovely little motto from back then.
Aside from all the boring business talk like trades and whatever.
Talk to me here: have you ever held something like a real, genuine Valk before?
That was the kind of thing that would be sought-after by the trading sphere, you know?
And I was no stranger to trades.
I had a nice little collection back home, one I got off of my parents.
Real classy stuff. Those two had a real fascination with classy accessories.
Fedoras in particular.
..blegh, sorry for the tangent.
I'd understand if you're bored out of your mind right now.
Can't say I blame you.
Talking about trades now is dreadful.. I just want to have fun!
Having all this talk about 'family values' and 'business' instilled into your mind growing up absolutely didn't help.
I can say how much I loved it when I finally had the freedom to do whatever I wanted.
Ever had that feeling before where you've been trapped your whole life and now could just do what you, yourself, and you alone wanted?
I'm telling ya', it's the best feeling ever.
I mean, who wouldn't want to hang out with a rich, well-dressed figure such as myself?"

Question 3: "What was your family like?"

"..ugh, do you really need to hear about them?"

You nod, curious.

"Fine, fine. I get it.
You're curious about me, and that's totally reasonable.
I mean, who wouldn't want to hang out with a rich, well-dressed figure such as myself?
You tell them to answer the question.
Alright, alright! Jeez.
Well... what to say about them...
Hm.. ever told you about this trading group my family was a part of?
Let's Make a Deal? LMaD for short?
Yeah, those two had gotten their wealth from there.
Apparently they were real buddy-buddy with each other, working like business partners working hand-in-hand.
If you were looking for something back then, there was a chance that those two would have it, too.
And they'd be willing to give it to you, at the right price.
The right kind of deal.
Basically it was all this trading that led to the two growing closer, eventually starting an underground casino under the family name.
Know the right person, and they'd tell you how to find it.. That kind of thing.
..yeah, yeah. I know.
I didn't exactly build the wealth I had from the ground up.
Moreso that I inherited their fortune.
Growing up under their care was a different story, though.
It was so, so, boooooring.
Sure, I had any and all the stuff I could ask for, and I'd get it.. But I got tired of that fast.
What with their meetings and work leaving me alone with schooling and tutoring after-school.
I still have a faint touch on piano, but I really don't want to play it, so don't ask.
.. Anyways, when I'd graduated, they brought me over to talk.
Not gonna get into details, but it was real messy, I'm telling you that right now.
Words were said, yelling ensued.. Went into my room and locked myself in there after that.
…
Well, I hope you got what you needed out of that, haha.
C'mon, why don't you go somewhere like the cafe and eat something?
Go out and have fun!"

Question 4: "What was the underground place like?"

"Oh, it was fantastic! Absolutely spectacular.
Sparkling lights, great food, all sorts of games to play.. But most importantly of all..
Money to play and risks to take!
I've been fortunate enough to be incredibly lucky, you know.
But I've also had my fair share of sights of folks breaking down after losing what they had.
And when someone loses their shot, they usually turn to.. let's say.. some drastic measures.
Contracts, you could say.
See, my parents had this 'family friend they've had in the business for a while now.
A big guy with a group of henchmen that followed 'em around.
I didn't know a lot about him until after I'd already inherited the place.
Think he already didn't like me when I waltzed right on in and kept pulling off a couple lucky feats.
I mean... I only won like.. seven times!
Then I had two guys dragging me along to a private corner to chat.
Man that guy was scary... his crew to a lesser degree, but still ruthless.
They acted as a bit of protection for the place in case things went awry, and security too.
I was told the details some time after I began working there.
Some kind of deal between the two families.. A cut of the place's profits going to them, protection and extra security given in turn.
It worked out pretty well for them in the long run, so I guess it wasn't that bad of a deal.
Still, I don't think any of them liked me.
And if they did like me before, they definitely didn't like me after what happened..
But that's something for another time, haha.
Outside of all the boring stuff, I spent a lot of time there!
Partying was just how I started.
It moved onto risky or dangerous games, but with very enticing stuff, too.
It's why I carry a flintlock with me, heh.
Got real lucky more than once with it.
When I leave it to luck, I tend to get it right on the money a lot of the time.
I can prove it if you're up for slots later!
You've caught me at a real good time!"

Question 5: "How did you get here?"

"..Well -..
You see, the thing is..
Er-.."

Their poker face falters, just for a moment.

"As uh... As far as everyone else here knows, I woke up in that old cabin place before we got here.
I'd been patched up and lying on a bed with one of Builderman's dispensers sitting beside me.
Bandages were wrapped around my torso, and some time later when I took it off, I had a pretty nasty scar, all things considered.
To keep things short though, I was attacked.
Pierced through the torso, actually. By a long, sharp sword.
An incredibly valuable and powerful sword at that, too.
The Darkheart.
Do you know about that?
Merely & Seranok might've told you already about it.
Some of its previous wielders were infamous for their acts of grand larceny and escapades, you know.
And it'd ended up in that `family's` hands, no less.
It nearly killed me.
It felt cold when it pierced me for the first time.
Took a sec to register the pain.
Only to feel it tenfold as it got pulled out of me.
Wanna know what the worst part about it was?
That the attacker was someone I knew.
Someone I'd trusted enough to work together with.
Someone I once considered a friend.
It hurts to feel betrayed like that.
He just .. Stared at me on the dirty sidewalk, waiting for me to die.
I couldn't even get a read on their expression.
The pain was just too much.
When I awoke here and tried getting up, Noob looked so much like them that I initially jolted back in shock.
Man, what an embarrassing tale, haha…
…
..It took a lot of getting used to, after that whole ordeal.
I grew to find enjoyment out of the rounds, and found it fun to shoot at the next thing chasing us.
I was pretty lucky that I'd managed to bring my flintlock, no?
Now I could just trade things from folks around here for things like gunpowder and ammunition.
I run a little bartering system from time to time.
It's pretty sweet, if you ask me.
I guess those under the Constantine line are just naturals at finding value in trading.
That's one thing I'm grateful for from my folks, I guess.
Anyways, you probably should get going.
The next round's about to start soon.
Or maybe you're content with staying here in the cabins?
Either way, I'll catch ya' on the flip side."

Question 6: "Anything happen to your family?"

"…
They uh…
Pretty loaded question, you know.
Gotta be careful when asking that with others.
They might look at you weirdly.
..but yeah.
They were taken...
By the same thing that took me and you.
But I think it failed... or something.
The details have gotten fuzzy over the years, it's been a while since I talked with them.
Wish I could tell them I miss them again.
As far as the general community was concerned, those two just privatized their lives, leaving everything to me.
Kind of a sad thought to think about, you know?
But hey, don't feel too sad.
I'm over it, really.
It was tragic, sure, but I kept going.
You should too, you know.
Don't let anyone hold you back.
Once you've got that into your head, you're set for life.
Take it from me, buddy.
Keep the people around you at arm's length."
