@ProperFixer@grok@nicknow@AFMBlog You just were completely fucking wrong about the information you gave and you asked me to use you for advice. Amazing.
Some customers don’t only care about price. Getting multiple bids accomplishes little as the quality of install and the service are what are going to determine if you have to do this again in 10 years or in 25. When people get multiple bids they generally get very confused and are relying on what a commissioned sales person is telling them. All the ancillary componants that come along with using a solid company seem somewhat intangible and the customer makes a decision based on price alone. The lowest price is almost never the best option.
@ProperFixer@nicknow@AFMBlog@grok what does two carrier infinity series 5 ton heat pumps and two 98% 120k btu infinity furnaces cost to install by a highly rated professional company in NYC cost? Assume they bought a maintenance package and a 10 year labor warranty for both.
Idk where you live. If you get a quote for 12k that includes duct work you should run the other way. We have no idea the efficiency, the size, the brand, the warranty, if there is a maintenance package, if they financed and there’s a dealer fee baked in.
Also once saw is completely irrelevant statement. I once saw gas cost 1.09/gallon.
@nicknow@AFMBlog Depends on the tonnage of the units. Where this person lives etc. You just don’t know what you’re talking about which is okay.
In a lot of places a heat pump doesn’t exempt you from a furnace you need both.
It’s okay not to know. Chill out.
Some homes are too large for one unit to handle heating or cooling. It’s typically a bad idea to “ping-pong” your units, or buy a furnace and and AC at different times. So doing two ACs or two heat pumps (buying a straight cool ac is like buying a new VHS player when DVDs came out) AND two furnaces. That price is not terrible.
