2 dropped out of school realizing it’s not for them. one pursued hairdressing and now runs very successful salon in toronto and sell courses about it. one is becoming a flight signal controller ($150k/year). he started as a suitcases handler.

i love poparide, had rlly interesting convo. few things that stuck out most to me:

[YilinChess @yilinli_]

he told me some stories of his sons and daughter who are in their 20s as well.

[YilinChess @yilinli_]

also i use my mom’s profile to book rides lmao

when u are pursuing passion or things that don’t have clear outcomes, those experiences are the most surprising ones. because u have no clue on what’s gonna happen next

the driver (george) said it’s easy to love someone who are happy and not miserable. there aren’t only 1 soulmate out there for each person. and this totally makes sense to me

[YilinChess @yilinli_]

taking a break from uwaterloo might be one of the best decisions that i’ve ever made. in the span of one month, i’ve had so many adventures, met amazing people and made memories that i will cherish a lot. feeling grateful.

If you feel like the weight of the world is weighing you down endlessly — take a moment, look at the sky, it’ll all be okay.

You can still make something good.

learning chess can be technical, the part i like the least is openings, since there are so many stuffs to remember. but since i started coaching chess, i became more motivated to learn them, all because i can teach them to my students! @_buildspace @_nightsweekends

[YilinChess @yilinli_]

@_broskitweets @_buildspace hey Braeden! this is very cool, would love to chat. are you planning to monetize this platform eventually?
