🌟Les FDLR ont deux emplois très utiles pour Kigali.

1️⃣ Premier emploi : le prétexte permanent.

Depuis plus de vingt ans, le Rwanda justifie sa présence militaire, ses opérations et son soutien au M23 dans l’est de la RDC par « la menace existentielle » putative des Forces démocratiques de libération du Rwanda.

C’est l’argument officiel répété devant le Conseil de sécurité : tant que les FDLR existent, le Rwanda aurait le droit de se défendre… y compris sur le territoire congolais.

Ce prétexte a permis de produire ûe rationale visant à légitimer des interventions et un appui massif au M23.

Même lorsque les FDLR sont affaiblis, le discours reste le même.

2️⃣ Deuxième emploi : le recyclage opérationnel.

Quand des combattants FDLR se rendent ou sont capturés, ils sont rapatriés au Rwanda via le centre de Mutobo.

Officiellement « réhabilités », ils sont en réalité inscrits automatiquement comme réservistes de la Rwanda Defence Force (RDF).

Cf. Plusieurs rapports du Groupe d’experts des Nations unies (S/2023/990, S/2024/432 et annexes, ainsi que des rapports ultérieurs).

❌ Certains sont rappelés, formés dans des bases militaires rwandaises, puis renvoyés en RDC.

Ils intègrent des équipes de soutien au combat et de reconnaissance (environ 250 hommes) placées sous le commandement du service de renseignement de la défense rwandaise (DID).

Ces équipes n’opèrent qu'accessoirement contre les FDLR restants.

Elles sont surtout utilisées aux côtés du M23 et des unités RDF pour identifier et combattre les Forces armées de la République démocratique du Congo (FARDC) et les groupes Wazalendo.

Leur atout principal : leur connaissance intime du terrain forestier et des réseaux de l’est du Congo.

Le Groupe d’experts de l’ONU ne se contente pas de documenter ce recyclage : il l’inscrit dans un cadre beaucoup plus large de critiques sévères.

Les experts soulignent que le soutien systématique de la RDF au M23, y compris par l’utilisation d’anciens FDLR démobilisés, constitue un acte passible de sanctions.

Ils affirment que le déploiement de forces rwandaises sur le territoire congolais viole la souveraineté et l’intégrité territoriale de la RDC.

Ils notent également que le contrôle de facto exercé par la RDF sur les opérations du M23 rend le Rwanda responsable des actes de ce groupe, perpétrateurs de crimes de guerre et contre l'humanité massif.

Plus important encore, les experts ont affirmé à plusieurs reprises que les opérations rwandaises dépassent largement toute considération de légitime défense putative contre les FDLR.

Des zones sans présence significative de FDLR ont été ciblées, ce qui met en doute la justification officielle de Kigali.

En résumé, l’ONU décrit un système dans lequel les FDLR servent à la fois de prétexte diplomatique et de réservoir de combattants recyclés pour renforcer l’effort de guerre aux côtés du M23 contre l’armée congolaise et les Wazalendo.

Ce double usage n’est pas une théorie.

Il est minutieusement documenté par le Groupe d’experts de l’ONU.

Pendant que Kigali parle d'un prétendu impératif de « neutralisation de la menace génocidaire », une partie de cette même menace putative est réutilisée pour poursuivre des objectifs militaires bien plus larges en RDC.

Le problème avec le Rwanda et son supplétif criminel, le M23, c’est que l’époque de la manipulation est révolue. Un minimum de honte.

Comme votre père, le Rwanda, vous faites partie de ces criminels qui endeuillent notre pays. Vous faites partie de ceux qui sèment la mort et la désolation.

Calling #GENOCOST a "conspiracy theory" is a textbook act of denialism aimed at erasing 30 years of documented atrocities.
The history of foreign aggression in eastern Congo is not a political construct, it is documented by the United Nations. The landmark UN Mapping Report meticulously detailed 617 incidents of massacres, systematic rape, and war crimes between 1993 and 2003, many directly pointing to the military forces of Rwanda and its proxies.

From the invasion of the 1990s to the ongoing, UN-documented support for RDF/M23 operations today, the devastation of millions of Congolese lives and the plunder of Congo’s resources are undeniable historical facts.
You can try to rewrite the terminology, but you cannot erase the blood on your hands, the mass graves, or the testimonies of survivors. #JusticeForCongo is not a theory, it is an inevitability. 🇨🇩

“Dead or sanctioned” is a false binary. No one is invading Rwanda. The world isn’t sanctioning self-defence, it’s sanctioning a resource war fought on Congolese soil, over Congolese minerals, that a small elite and Kagame’s regime profit from. Stop occupying your neighbours and the question answers itself.

Kagame’s aggressive regional policy has led Rwanda into conflict with every one of its neighbours - Burundi, DRC, Uganda, Tanzania. Each, at one point, has been accused by Kigali of backing the FDLR, a pretext for cross-border operations and military intervention. Each, in turn, has accused Rwanda of violating its sovereignty: spying inside their borders, kidnapping and executing people from their territory.

You can’t have a problem with every neighbour and still play the victim.

As soon as a serious investigation points the finger at Rwandan influence operations (paying influencers, coordinated accounts, support for the M23 occupation in the DRC), Yolande trots out the exact same script:

1️⃣“Karen / colonial / panicked” → immediate ad hominem attack to disqualify the journalist (Michela Wrong) instead of addressing the facts.

2️⃣“Africans have the right to have opinions” / “we can talk among ourselves” → framing the criticism as an attempt to “police African voices,” when the investigation is precisely about voices paid for and coordinated by a state.

3️⃣“It’s 2026, Rwandans can talk back” → victim posture that turns every investigation into a colonial conspiracy, while conveniently omitting that the Kigali regime itself is one of the most active players on social media when it comes to controlling the narrative.

4️⃣Zero factual response to the evidence (payments, coordination, support for M23).

Just the usual refrain: “you have no right to talk about us.”

It’s the classic bullshit of Kagame’s soft power: turning any documented criticism into “anti-African racism” or an “attempt to silence Rwandans.”

Same talking points, same accusatory inversion, same total refusal to engage with the substance.

Classic. Reheated. Thoroughly predictable.

It's tough when the spokesperson for a government that contributed to millions of deaths tries to deflect away from remembrance. The genocide against the Tutsi was horrific but RPF first killed ~100k+ Hutu in Zaire then instigated the 2nd Congo War in 98 leading to millions more.

Learn stupida ! August 2, 1998 marks the beginning of the Second Congo War.

This date is not merely the starting point of an armed conflict. It symbolizes absolute horror and opens the way to a long series of massacres of civilians that bloodied the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo for years.

Among these massacres is that of Kasika, which occurred on August 24, 1998 and the following days.

In the villages of Kasika, Kilungutwe, Kalama, and Zokwe, in the territory of Mwenga (South Kivu), more than 1,000 civilians—mainly Nyindu—were killed.

Forces of the Congolese Rally for Democracy (RCD) and the Rwandan Patriotic Army (APR) of Paul Kagame attacked a church during Mass, then the surrounding villages.

Priests, nuns, women (often raped and mutilated before being murdered), children, and babies (some thrown into latrines) were exterminated.

The Mwami (traditional chief) François Mubeza III (Naluindi Francis), chief of the Lwindi chiefdom, was tied up and then killed with a machete, his heart ripped out and his head severed.

His wife, pregnant with twins, was disemboweled.

💀 On the way to Kilungutwe (about 60 km), massacres multiplied.

At Zokwe, dozens of people were killed and burned, and at Kalama dozens of people were burned alive in their homes.

💀 At Kilungutwe, on a market day, the soldiers fired on the crowd gathered in the square, then forced groups of civilians (up to 50 people per hut) to gather in huts where they were massacred.

Some were stripped, bound with their own clothes, and killed.

The houses were looted and set on fire.

What army can do that????!!!!

This crime was documented by the United Nations.

These massacres have remained unpunished, in the same way as the genocide of the 100,000 to 200,000 educated Hutu in Burundi in 1972.

The latter was a state genocide, carried out by the army and the Jeunesses révolutionnaires Rwagasore (a kind of Interahamwe before their time) under the regime of Michel Micombero.

As in Kasika and in so many other places in eastern Congo, the perpetrators and those who ordered the crimes have almost never had to answer for them.

Impunity has been virtually total.

It is precisely this reality that Geno-Cost seeks to have recognized: a genocide for economic gain, a process of massive destruction of Congolese populations motivated by control of the mineral and strategic wealth of the east of the country.

Geno-Cost rightly refuses to reduce these crimes to simple “ethnic” or “tribal conflicts.”

It insists on the economic dimension and on the responsibility of the powers and armed forces that orchestrated or supported these killings.

August 2, 1998 is therefore not an ordinary date.

It is the beginning of a cycle of horrors whose Congolese victims are still waiting for recognition, justice, and reparation.
Geno-Cost is a call to finally break this silence and this unbearable impunity.
