I’ll say this even if some people won’t like it.
Kenya feels like it's drifting toward lawlessness.
It increasingly seems as though there are two systems of justice: one for government critics and opposition figures, and another for government supporters.
When people believe critics can be harmed while those responsible face little or no accountability, trust in the rule of law begins to erode. That is dangerous for any democracy and risks deepening divisions.
Uhuru Kenyatta handed over a country that, despite its challenges, remained politically united. The same could be said of Kibaki.
What changed? Where did we go wrong?
