I don’t know what to say anymore. As doctors, we can’t stop a genocide and we can’t end a famine.
We provided a diagnosis - genocide.
We provided a prescription to end the genocide - for Canada to end its complicity and direct involvement in Israel’s crimes now.
Just today @CBCNews reported🇨🇦 made sniper rifles are verified to be in the hands of the RSF committing genocide in Sudan.
You are still arming Israel's atrocities with 🇨🇦made weapons.
There is nothing "principled" or legal about your crimes.
I want to share with you some words shared yesterday from Mohammed Al-Helou محمد اكرم الحلو, and the legal action he is taking to seek accountability for Israeli war crimes. Sending him so much strength and love. And I hope more people are inspired to hold the Israeli military accountable for their actions in Gaza and all over Palestine.
“Today, in cooperation with the Hind Rajab Foundation and my legal team, I have taken a significant legal step by filing an official complaint in Belgium against the Belgian-Israeli sniper who targeted me while I was working as a journalist in Gaza.
In February 2024, I was clearly wearing a press vest and reporting near Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis when I was shot. I was not carrying a weapon, I was carrying a camera. I was not fighting, I was documenting. I was fulfilling my duty as a journalist: bringing truth from the frontlines to the world.
But journalism does not end with publishing stories. It is the preservation of memory, the documentation of evidence, and the insistence that truth reaches justice before it is buried under the flood of breaking news. In Gaza, journalists have documented atrocities with their lenses, their voices, and too often, their blood. Many have paid with their lives for the truth they carried. This legal action is a continuation of that mission.
This case is not about me alone. It is about every journalist targeted for holding a camera, every doctor targeted for saving lives, and every civilian targeted simply for being Palestinian. I am not seeking revenge, I am seeking accountability. I am not driven by hatred, I am driven by truth.
Because impunity breeds repetition, while accountability is a safeguard of our shared humanity. War criminals may evade justice for a time. Evidence may be buried. Headlines may fade. But truth does not disappear. Every photograph, every video, every testimony becomes part of an unerasable historical and legal record.
As long as there are journalists willing to document, survivors willing to testify, and lawyers willing to fight, justice remains possible. Silence will not prevail. Forgetting will not prevail. And justice, however delayed, will always be worth pursuing.”
Recently reported in The Lancet, "Petition calls for boycott of Israeli Medical Association". I'm a signatory on this petition, along with more than 1,150 health professionals and organisations.
"Health organisations are calling for a boycott of the Israeli Medical Association (IMA) over what they say are violations of medical ethics and international humanitarian law in the war in Gaza. The People's Health Movement (PHM), Artsen voor Gaza (Doctors for Gaza), and Health Advisory Council of the Jewish Voice for Peace want the IMA to be suspended from the World Medical Association (WMA) over its failure to speak out against the genocide of Palestinians, the destruction of health-care infrastructure, and the torture and killing of health-care workers in Gaza."

Surprisingly strong coverage of this morning's FIFA action in Toronto by Yahoo Sports: "You cannot celebrate 'fair play' while Palestinian stadiums are turned into military detention camps and hundreds of players, coaches, and referees have been killed." https://t.co/tdUm06jb7o
Yesterday in Toronto, activists protested FIFA’s inaction by still not sanctioning Israel. And fans and supporters of team Bosnia and Herzegovina chanting in solidarity with Palestine. Beautiful sights to see.
Bosnian solidarity with Palestine never received much international attention. In fact, too many Western “leftists” & anti-imperialists deny our genocide & glorify those who massacred us with Israeli weapons. I am glad that Bosnians will not shut up about Palestine 🇵🇸⚜️
Yesterday in the UK, a judge ruled against four direct action activists who damaged Israeli military assets owned by Elbit Systems in 2024. They are facing years of jail time and were sentenced for an “act of terrorism”, for attempting to slow down the weapons production and movement from the UK to Israel where these weapons and technology are used in daily acts of terrorism and genocidal violence against Palestinians in Gaza. We live in a time where the people of conscience who try to stop genocide are labeled as terrorists and the war profiteers and politicians who make the laws to defend them enjoy full impunity.
Judge Jeremy Johnson has established a new precedent...
"Any protest action that is now determined as trying to "change government policy" can have this applied.
So today it's Palestine Action, but next it'll be immigration protests, farmers protests, NHS, tax etc etc."
You can vehemently disagree with Palestine Action activists goals, whilst simultaneously be horrified a judge can decide AFTER a conviction if it was terrorism related amd double a sentence.
Being able to class an offense as terrorism AFTER conviction without charging them with terrorism should bother everyone.

Destroying private 'israeli' weapons used in a genocide gets you a longer sentence than child grooming in occupied Britain.
For the first time, activists are sentenced as 'terrorists' for property damage.
This will go down as one of the most unjust cases in British history.
