BREAKING: Pro-Palestine activists have disrupted a presentation by Werner Vogels, Amazon vice president and Chief Technology Officer, at the UN’s “AI for Good” summit in Switzerland.

Palestinian civil society strongly condemns the UN International Telecommunication Union’s shameful partnership with criminal tech companies in this summit, particularly Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Cisco, Oracle, and IBM. In providing cloud infrastructure and AI technologies to the Israeli war ministry, these companies are deeply complicit in Israel's military occupation, apartheid and genocide against Indigenous Palestinians.

Project Nimbus, the joint $1.22 billion contract between Google and Amazon signed in 2021, provides cloud and AI tech services to the Israeli government and the Israeli military. It enables the Israeli military to run deadly AI programs such as Lavender and Gospel — crucial to its ongoing, livestreamed genocide in Gaza.

We call for global pressure on the UN and its member States to end all UN partnership and contracts with these and similarly complicit corporations, and on Amazon and Google to drop their genocidal Project Nimbus.

A stadium official was caught on video admitting that ONLY EGYPTIAN fans were being SEARCHED and patted down before entering Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, while Argentinian fans were allowed in without checks.

This is RACIAL DISCRIMINATION, Egyptians were singled out for searches while others entered freely during Egypt’s World Cup match against Argentina.

🚨💣 La chaîne Fox Sports explique la règle de la FIFA concernant l’utilisation du VAR et la compare au but refusé de l’Égypte :

◾️ La distance :

La règle : Plus la faute est éloignée du but, moins il est justifié que le VAR intervienne.

Le cas de l’Égypte : La faute s’est produite à environ 90 mètres du but, une distance considérable qui, selon cette interprétation, ne justifiait pas un retour du VAR sur l’action.

◾️ La nature de la faute

La règle : Plus l’action est éloignée du but, plus la faute doit être claire, grave et manifeste pour entraîner l’annulation d’un but.

Le cas de l’Égypte : Le contact était léger, sans gravité suffisante pour nécessiter l’intervention de l’assistance vidéo.

◾️ L’organisation défensive

La règle : Si l’équipe qui défend a eu le temps de se replacer et d’organiser son bloc, avec une réelle possibilité d’empêcher le but, l’impact de la faute initiale devient moins déterminant.

Le cas de l’Égypte : Au moment où le but a été marqué, la défense argentine était totalement replacée et organisée. Elle n’était ni déséquilibrée ni directement affectée par la faute commise bien plus tôt dans l’action

◾️ La direction de l’attaque

La règle : Le VAR intervient principalement lorsqu’une faute est directement à l’origine d’une attaque rapide et verticale, comme lors d’une contre-attaque.

Le cas de l’Égypte : L’action ne résultait pas d’une contre-attaque éclair, mais d’une construction offensive organisée, ponctuée de plusieurs passes avant le but.
