In the paper, we introduce a novel Spatially Robust Interrupted Time Series (SRITS) model. We found the ULEZ expansion led to increased footfall on Outer London's high streets, particularly in more deprived areas, highlighting key social equity dimensions of transport policy.
Thrilled to see Xinyu, the first MSc Urban Spatial Science student I co-supervised with Prof @Cecile_zhong at @CASA_UCL, get her @RGS_IBG award-winning dissertation published in Transport Research Part A! A huge achievement, now available via Open Access https://t.co/exr07gqfMK

Crucially, these impacts were not uniform! 🗺️ Outer London, with its higher car dependency, experienced the most abrupt changes. We also observed significant variations across different socio-demographic groups. #Equity#TransportPlanning
Thrilled my new PhD paper is out in Transportation Research Part D! 🎉 We explored "Spatial heterogeneity in human mobility responses to London's ultra-low emission zone expansion". Read the open-access paper: https://t.co/JuWHIKkT1o
We found overall travel initially dipped, then recovered in 4-8 weeks. The ULEZ also led to longer travel distances & commute durations, suggesting a shift to slower but more #sustainable travel modes. 🚲🚌🚶♀️
