🗣️ Calling Florida voters! We’re seeing high levels of rejected mail-in ballots. Make sure your vote is counted by tracking your ballot and curing any issues if necessary. https://t.co/WBq3od6cjW
My Democratic Senate colleagues and I boycotted the Supreme Court nominee committee vote today. Let's be clear: this nomination process is a sham and shows how Republicans will stop at nothing to strip health care from millions of Americans with pre-existing conditions.
RBG passed away just 33 days ago, and Mitch McConnell's former chief of staff has already teamed up with a rightwing internet troll to start a podcast named "RUTHLESS," complete with a logo emblazoned over the Supreme Court facade. Subtle.
Wallowing in their indecency.
What struck me the most in speaking to these evangelicals was the way they are rethinking what it means to be "pro-life" so that it is not just about fetuses. If this view gains ground, that would be important for evangelicals, conservative Catholics and the country.
VOTER PRO TIP: DO NOT MARK YOUR ABSENTEE BALLOT WITH A SHARPIE (bleeds through and tabulator kicks it out) Then D/R team marks it on a new ballot and all 5 board members review it. We had 9 of these today. ALSO: DO NOT USE A YELLOW HIGHLIGHTER TO EMPHASIZE YOUR CHOICES.
Access to birth control has changed the lives and economic futures of millions of women—but we know by now how Amy Coney Barrett feels about reproductive rights.
This non-answer isn't a surprise, but that doesn't make it any less horrifying.
Our Constitution is a living document because it requires real people to interpret laws written in a living language.
If it were self-evident, judges would be unnecessary.
Interpretation matters.
When Senator @amyklobuchar so smartly asked #AmyConeyBarrett exactly what she meant when she actually wrote that voting rights should belong only to “virtuous” citizens, Barrett was totally unresponsive. That’s telling.
When politicians use faith as an excuse to pass and uphold laws that seize control of people’s bodies but not guarantee them healthcare, feed the poor, shelter the homeless, or welcome the stranger, you have to wonder if it’s really about faith at all.
