Xabi Alonso wants his team to defend with counter-press and this suits our players so well.

It means less pressure on the backline and less defensive responsibility for the attacking players. Just concentrate on recovering the ball in opponent's half and damaging the opponent.

I expect Cole Palmer to be more influential next season. Apart from his poor form due to muscle injury, running back and defending a lot is affecting his attacking output.

At Chelsea Enzo Fernandez feels untouchable or irreplaceable because of the burden he has had to carry in attack because our attacking options are substandard. If you’re to talk about his primary role as controlling games and a pivot to caicedo , other players on the market can do it . If Enzo leaves , we have to find attackers that can contribute his goals and assist. Even if he doesn’t leave , Alonso likes his pivot fixed and close to each other , which means Enzo wouldn’t be doing the box crashing thing like before . The whole point is , Chelsea needs reinforcements in attack to see the best of all our midfielders because as it now , we have turned Enzo Fernandez into a goal merchant who forgets his primary role for which he was brought in
