Very excited to see our first full paper published in eLife! We found a new role of GPX4 in failed renal repair beyond ferroptosis prevention. Proud of leading author Shintaro and thankful for all the help from our fabulous collaborators.

Very excited to share our multi-omic analysis of healthy human kidney, the first output of our @cziscience funded effort to support the @humancellatlas! Co-led by @YoshiharuMuto and @parkercwilson , we performed snRNA-seq and snATAC-seq (1/7) https://t.co/RYdBBL3X44
In #COVID19 unrelated news, our latest preprint is up. A snRNA-seq atlas of AKI, in great work done by @ykirita
-125,000 cells
-A sub-pop of prox. tub. fails to repair
-adopts a pro-inflammatory state
-and also increases with aging

Just in time for #AlportAwareness , postdoc Kohei Omachi's and my summary of clinical trials for #AlportSyndrome is now available online in Trends in Pharmacological Sciences. https://t.co/ZXkj2tSZRW
Our new preprint, led by @parkercwilson. We perform snRNA-seq of early human diabetic nephropathy & identify intercellular communication pathways, angiogenic signaling and a coordinated transcriptional signature for epithelial potassium secretion:

Guo, @morris_lab and co present CellTag Indexing, a method for barcoding and multiplexing single cell RNA-seq samples. The barcodes are delivered by virus, enabling long-term labeling, with barcodes expressed as polyA transcripts. https://t.co/aEjA3YgJsZ
A study of single-nucleus RNA sequencing shows it is comparable to single-cell RNA sequencing in quantifying gene expression and it has several advantages that will help in efforts to build a single-cell atlas of healthy and diseased kidney.
