The final version of our work on initiation-elongation transition by mammalian Pol II is now online! We visualized key transition steps during initiation and early elongation.
Many thanks to Patrick @mpgpresident, Christian @c_dienemann, Elisa @EOberbeckmann and the Cramer lab!
Excited to share our work showing how the Integrator complex terminates RNA polymerase II (Pol II) transcription i.e. removal of Pol II from the DNA template

Many thanks to my mentor Patrick Cramer @mpgpresident for unwavering support
Our work leads to a simple, three-step model of promoter escape by mammalian Pol II, which is regulated by RNA length, transcription bubble rewinding and elongation factors. Big thanks to Patrick @mpgpresident, Christian @c_dienemann, Elisa @EOberbeckmann and the Cramer lab!
Glad to share our new preprint on promoter escape by mammalian Pol II! We captured five transcription intermediates (de novo initiated from the PIC) and visualized the key steps where the initially transcribing complex (ITC) transitions into an elongation complex (EC).
