I just finished listening to Project Hail Mary on Audible. It's a novel set in 2021, so while there are AI-like technologies, there's no generative AI. At first, I thought this made the novel seem a bit dated. However, I couldn't help but see Rocky—an alien engineer who can create literally anything—as a kind of metaphor for AI agents like Claude Code, which actually makes it feel quite modern to me. Incredibly entertaining!
