In 1972, Kurt Vonnegut wrote "I have this disease late at night sometimes, involving alcohol and the telephone" and I think he may have invented the drunk-dial.

So everyone over 30 has a favourite treadmill in the gym. Right?

When did everyone become such a big Coldplay fan?

We don’t have a plan, we just do our best to get through the day, because there’ll be another one coming along tomorrow.

Psyop. That's the word of the decade, isn't it?

When he lost control, Colin's voice rose higher and higher, so that he was shouting almost I'm falsettos.

Kurt Vonnegut's 8 rules for writing:
⁣
1. Use the time of a total stranger in such a way that he or she will not feel the time was wasted.⁣
⁣
2. Give the reader at least one character he or she can root for.⁣
⁣
3. Every character should want something, even if it is only a glass of water.⁣
⁣
4. Every sentence must do one of two things—reveal character or advance the action.⁣
⁣
5. Start as close to the end as possible.⁣
⁣
6. Be a sadist. No matter how sweet and innocent your leading characters, make awful things happen to them-in order that the reader may see what they are made of.⁣
⁣
7. Write to please just one person. If you open a window and make love to the world, so to speak, your story will get pneumonia.⁣
⁣
8. Give your readers as much information as possible as soon as possible. To hell with suspense. Readers should have such complete understanding of what is going on, where and why, that they could finish the story themselves, should cockroaches eat the last few pages.⁣

@StanChartIN Can I please have a call back?

[yolande @yolandewrites]

@StanChartIN please call me back. I've been trying to close my account for a while now. Still getting bills.

[yolande @yolandewrites]

@StanChartIN @StanChartHelpIN I haven't got a call yet.

[yolande @yolandewrites]

@StanChartHelpIN please call me back. Need to close my account. It's seemingly impossible. None of the customer care phone numbers work.

I really wish people were taught how to respond to conversations. Like we all assumed these things come naturally. But I guess they don't.

[yolande @yolandewrites]

Have you ever been in a conversation where you are talking about someone you lost, and the other person just starts making a list of people who have died? Like this is not a competition!
