Suspected of fleecing the Church of over N2bn Naira in shady land deals, the suspended Archbishop of the Anglican Province of the Niger, Alexander Ibezim, seems unwilling to allow an independent investigation into the allegations.
He reportedly procured court orders against @officialEFCC & has now hired very expensive #SANs led by one in Port Harcourt to procure court orders to stop the church hierarchy from investigating the allegations or suspending him.
Reasonable people are entitled to ask: Where is he getting the money from?!

Eight years. Continuous. Historic.
Today, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji takes the oath that no Ekiti governor before him could take. He is the first since the state was created in 1996 to break the cycle and stay for an unbroken eight year tenure.
This new chapter is marked by shared progress that reaches every home. A new era of continuity begins.
HYPOCRISY!Why is Anthony Kila receiving harsher treatment than Fraudulent VIPS?
https://t.co/6ZkCbvNINu
This week, I question the selective moral outrage of people who have cancelled Anthony Kila for falsifying his academic credentials but gladly socialize and do lucrative work projects with politicians who have committed worse crimes.
@skin_dudu@Omojuwa Thats one of the reasons why the case will be interesting. Can an employee transfer a right in this circumstance?
I think a good strategy may be for JJ and the employee to approach the NICN together.
I'm glad JJ is working with the employee on this, and I pray they get justice
I love this. I wanted the process to be completed before sharing an update but now that you asked...LOL.
Update:
1. I met the chef yesterday in Abuja, with my lawyers present. Noon meeting. She kept to time. I liked that. She shared a number of documents, including her employment and resignation letter.
2. The lawyers are preparing an agreement for the chef and me to sign. It transfers to me the right to recover the money. The lawyers made clear that it is not a debt matter. It is an employee rights matter.
3. The document comes through today. I sign. The chef signs. The N700,000 goes to her immediately after.
3. Then the company gets an email. Seven days to pay my money or produce a payment plan. They will also pay refund my legal fees.
PS: I learned something sitting with the lawyers yesterday. Employees are well favoured at our National Industrial Court, and the process moves faster than most litigation in this country. That was the second sweetest thing I heard all day.
You have been updated.
Sorry about your experience, Sir.
I understand that this is a divorce matter and you may not be interested in contesting whether or not this cost is actually sufficient for the appellate court. That being said, your experience made me remember the case of Isiyaku v. U.B.A. Plc(2026) 6 NWLR (Pt. 2039).
In this case, Alhaji Isiyaku, the Appellant, instituted an action against UBA for the unlawful removal of the sum of 350K from his account. He reported to the bank, but nothing was done about it. He was probably taken advantage of by virtue of the fact that he is illiterate.
The funny thing is that, as at the time he received the debit alert, his ATM card was with him. So, how did the money disappear miraculously? He sued UBA, claimed 5M in damages, and sought an order of the court for a refund of his 350K. After the trial, he won at the trial court, and the court granted all his reliefs. The Respondent appealed to the Court of Appeal, which partly affirmed the decision of the trial court but reduced the damages from 5M to 200K. As how? 😂😂😂
The Appellant (Alhaji Isiyaku), through his counsel, thereafter appealed to the Supreme Court and won. The Supreme Court set aside the decision of the Court of Appeal and affirmed the judgment of the trial court awarding ₦5 million as compensation to the Appellant. The court held that 200K was grossly inadequate and arbitrary.
So, sometimes, if a court awards costs that counsel feels may not be sufficient, counsel may appeal if it is worth it.
Thank you.
