Neo Geo Pocket Color - SNK Gals' Fighters

I demonstrate the Shadow Mask capability, LCD Mask Capability, Scanlines and color correction blocks available. You can save video profiles to memory and reload them. These are persistent even when updating device firmware. The biggest piece of this I haven't even demonstrated yet.

All capabilities demonstrated will be available on any configuration for my Digital Video Modification kit for handhelds.

Some people like this game... Dogyuun. It has great sound design, but really hard. The last time I showed Batsugun, now that is a game that does not utilize the security rom in the V25.

Dogyuun does in fact utilize the security rom, so I had to add support in our CYCLE ACCURATE (TRANSISTOR LEVEL 9000+) NEC V25 Core, xV25. It is fairly complicated, as there is streaming decryption through a ring buffer. The chips were pre-programmed with the security rom prior to delivery by NEC, but all dumps exist.

The reason why the V25 must be accurate is because both sides communicate via shared ram, and so they poll certain addresses to get sound commands/ acknowledgement, etc. If one side is off speed wise, then what happens is either the 68K or V25 become out of sync, and the games lock up/ sounds fail to play or the game doesn't. And so in this game, I had a strange issue where I had seen online that the 68k was 16mhz and the V25 was 12.5Mhz, but that actually was incorrect, and so the game would work only upon several resets to sync them up. Upon inspection of the board, actually both come from the same source clock, 25Mhz and divide by 2, so its 12.5Mhz for the 68k and the V25. Now it boots and works perfectly every time.
