1. ይህ ሞኖሎግ በአብይ አህመድ እና በራሱ ነጸብራቅ መካከል የሚደረግ ከንቱ ተግባር እንደሆነ በዋና ዋና የፖለቲካ ተዋናዮች መካከል መግባባት አለ። ሞኖሎጉ ላይ፣ የተቃውሞም ሆነ ገለልተኛ ድምጾች እንዲሁም ህጋዊ የህዝብ ተወካዮች እንደሌሉበት የተቋቋመ ሃቅ ነው።

2. መድረኩ ከጅምሩ አካታች እና ገለልተኛ ሆኖ የተገነባ ቢሆን እንኳን፣ በአብይ አህመድ አገዛዝ ስር እውነተኛ ብሔራዊ ውይይት ሊኖር አይችልም። የዚህ መድረክ ውጤት ምንም ይሁን ምን፣ መዳረሻው የአብይ አህመድ ጠረጴዛ ነው። ያለፉት ስምንት መራራ ዓመታት አንድ ነገር ካስተማረን፣ አብይ አህመድ ለየትኛውም የማህበረሰብ ጥያቄ ወይም ፍላጎት ሊታመን እንደማይችል ነው። መነሻውም መዳረሻውም ምን እንደሚያደርግበት የማያውቀው የፖለቲካ ስልጣን ነው።

3. በሞኖሎጉ ቀረቡ የተባሉ የሕዝብ ጥያቄዎች፣ ሁለት ዓላማዎች ለማሳካት ነው፡፡ ወደ ሁለት ጊዜ የፕሬዚዳንትነት ጉዞ መንገድ ለመጥረግ እና የኦሮሚያ፣ የአማራ እና የሌሎች የክልል መንግስታትን ወደ ትንንሽ ግዛቶች በመሸርሸር፣ በየክልሉ የጎላ የአከባቢያዊ ማንነት ልዩነትን ወደ መንግስታዊ እና ፖለትካዊ ልዩነቶች ለማሸጋገር ነው። ይህም በየክልሉ እየተያያዘ ሃገራዊ ቅርጽ መያዝ የጀመረውን ጸረ አገዛዝ ትግል መሠረቱን ከስር ለማዳከም ነው።

4. የሕዝብ መሠረታዊ እና መዋቅራዊ ጥያቄዎች ሁሉን አቀፍ ውይይት ይጠይቃሉ። ይህም ከአብይ መወገድ ማግስት፣ ጦርነት በሌለበት እና ለውይይት በተመቸ ዐውድ ውስጥ ብቻ የሚሳካ ነው።

5. ለዚህ የፖለቲካ ወንጀል የተባበሩ ኮሚሽነሮች እና ሌሎች ፈቃደኛ ተባባሪዎች፣ ይህ የአንድ ወገን ትዕይንት መሆኑን እና መሰረታዊ የሃገረ መንግስቱን ማነቆዎች እንደማይፈታ በሚገባ እያወቁ በወንጀሉ ዉስጥ ተሳታፊ የሆኑ አካላት ህጋዊ እና ታሪካዊ ኃላፊነት ይጠብቃቸዋል።

#WHO chief rebukes bishop’s migration remarks, says labeling people “invaders” denies their humanity

Addis Abeba – Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has criticized remarks by conservative Catholic Bishop Athanasius Schneider describing migration to Europe as an “invasion,” saying such language dehumanizes people fleeing conflict and hardship.

In a post on X, Tedros said he read the bishop’s remarks “with a heavy heart,” arguing that referring to human beings as “invaders” strips them “of their faces, their names, their stories,” and warning that “history teaches us where that road leads.”

The WHO chief was responding to widely circulated interview clips of Bishop Schneider, a traditionalist Catholic prelate serving as auxiliary bishop in Kazakhstan, who has repeatedly argued that large-scale migration to Europe constitutes an orchestrated effort to undermine the continent’s Christian identity.

In interviews published by conservative Catholic and European media outlets in 2025 and 2026, Schneider repeatedly argued that migration to Europe is “an orchestrated political action” aimed at suppressing Europe’s Christian identity. He has described the phenomenon as an “invasion” and linked it to what he characterizes as a broader agenda of cultural transformation.

“The people arriving on Europe’s shores are not an army. They are families fleeing war, hunger, and despair,” Tedros wrote, adding that migrants include “Christians and Muslims alike, mothers carrying children, young people who buried their dreams to survive.”

He said portraying migration as “a plot against a continent” ignores both evidence and migrants’ humanity.

Tedros also invoked Christian teachings in challenging the bishop’s framing, writing that Europe’s Christian heritage “is not defended by fear. It is defended by living it,” and citing the biblical passage, “I was a stranger and you welcomed me,” which he described as “not a political slogan; it is the Gospel itself.”

While acknowledging that “borders don’t matter” is not his position, Tedros said migration should be managed “with order, fairness, and honesty about its pressures.” However, he distinguished between border management and rhetoric targeting migrants.

“There is a difference between managing migration and demonising migrants,” he wrote. “The first is policy; the second is a wound to our shared humanity,” Tedros said.

“Compassion is not weakness, and fear is not faith. May we choose to see people, not plots.”

Five weekends in a row.

Before a single surgery is performed, before a single patient is treated, our volunteers have spent countless hours sorting, inventorying, packing, and preparing thousands of pounds of lifesaving supplies for Mission #5.

What makes this work so special is that most of us have no idea who these patients are. We have never met them, and after their surgery we may never see them again. Yet we fight for their lives as if they were our own family.

That is the purest form of service: helping someone not because of who they are, where they come from, their race, ethnicity, religion, or creed—but simply because they are human.

I am deeply grateful to every volunteer who has dedicated five consecutive weekends to this mission. A special thank you to our Founder and CEO, Dr. Obsinet Merid, who joined us virtually from Ethiopia, where she is already on the ground preparing to welcome the team and lay the foundation for Mission #5.

The logistics are complex. The work is intricate. It truly takes a village. But every box packed represents hope, and every life saved reminds us that humanity is at its best when it serves without conditions. ✊🏾❤️
