I know I might be reading too much into it, but I am of the opinion that this is, perhaps, the most sentimental shot/reverse shot in Christopher Nolan’s filmography.
Yeah I just can’t agree w/ this one. Visually The Batman is more striking but I feel like that’s the only thing it has over any of Nolan’s films and that’s bc he’s a naturally clinical filmmaker.
But that script and the accompanying performances do not hold a CANDLE to TDK.
Hilarious that people are only now realizing Nolan is and always has been a graduate from the Ridley Scott school of historical accuracy. A striking image trumps historical accuracy every time. It's literally painter logic.
