A FREE PEOPLE, LED BY A FREE MAN! 🇧🇫✊🏿
There is something powerful about watching a people begin to believe in themselves again. Something beautiful about a nation that dares to stand tall, defend its dignity and take ownership of its own destiny.
That is the spirit many Africans see in Burkina Faso under Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
For too long, Africa has been independent in name but dependent in decisions. We raised our flags, sang our national anthems and celebrated independence, yet too often, the direction of our nations remained influenced by interests far beyond our borders.
Our resources are here. Our intelligence is here. Our hardworking people are here. So why should Africa always have to look elsewhere for permission to rise?
A people cannot be truly free when they do not control their own destiny. And a nation cannot call itself sovereign when its future must be negotiated at the feet of foreign powers.
This is why Burkina Faso matters to so many Africans. Not because one man is beyond criticism, but because the question his leadership has brought to the centre of African consciousness is bigger than any individual:
Can an African nation stand on its own feet and determine its own future?
For millions of Africans, that question carries the weight of generations of struggle, betrayal, sacrifice and unfulfilled promises.
But let us be clear. True liberation is not about replacing one master with another. It is about building a country where the people have a voice, where leadership serves the nation, where the poor are not forgotten, where security is restored and where the wealth of the land improves the lives of those who call it home.
Ibrahim Traoré may be one face of this moment, but the real strength of Burkina Faso lies in its people. Leaders come and go, but a people who have awakened to their dignity must never surrender that consciousness.
Africa, the time has come to stop asking whether we are capable of governing ourselves and start building the systems that prove it.
We do not want a free Africa only in speeches. We want freedom in our economies, freedom in our decisions, freedom in our institutions and freedom in the lives of ordinary Africans.
Let Burkina Faso rise. Let the African people rise. Let every African nation find the courage to stand upright on its own soil.
Because our struggle is not against the world. It is against the idea that Africa must forever depend on others to become great.
A FREE PEOPLE. A FREE HOMELAND. A FUTURE DETERMINED BY AFRICANS THEMSELVES.
That is the Africa we owe our ancestors. That is the Africa our children deserve.
AFRICA ARISE! THE DESTINY OF OUR CONTINENT MUST BE IN AFRICAN HANDS!
