@CharlieChemtob I don’t think he doesn’t know this simple source. I think many in his wider audience don’t. The question isn’t why he doesn’t know it- he certainly does. The question is why does he ignore it and continue to resort to rhetoric and politics.

@lexfridman What about Michael Oren or Douglas Murray instead of Destiny. Using Destiny just opens the door to appeals to authority and he has a sizable knowledge gap.
The same scholars who revel in realpolitik apologetics for Russian invasion, can’t understand why US might support Israel w/o recourse to what they would otherwise call conspiracies
And then they complain that people think their work has the faint odor of Jew hatred about it.
Leaders who fail to prevent war, fail to protect the citizens of the country, suffer failures in the conduct of war, and refuse to take responsibility…should be sent home even during wartime.
It’s time to tell Netanyahu…”in the name of God, Go.”
@YoniAstro I never said I support criminalizing the chanting. I do think that people are morally and politically and personally responsible for what they say…this is doubly true after being explained what it means over and over
Whether they should be allowed to chant it or not aside, I think it is pretty clear what they mean when they say "From the River to the Sea."
They are talking about the destruction of Israel.
@YoniAstro I realize all of those things.
I’m not announcing the downfall of support for Israel in the US. The numbers are troubling but not that.
Just pointing out that the groups chanting from the river to the sea really want to “end Israel”

Biden is both a Zionist and an octogenarian. So no one should be surprised he thinks Jews need Israel to be safe b/c that’s literally what every Zionist believes. The issue though, is that Israel has unfortunately not made Jews more safe, and many Zionist fail to reckon with this

As a realist, I recognize that sometimes there are tradeoffs between legitimate security interests and moral considerations. That said, I am finding it hard to understand how any senior U.S. foreign policy officials can look at themselves in the mirror today.
@Jacob_Labendz Second, this relates to your claim that Zionists are the sole myth makers when it comes to Hanukkah. The notion that the restoration of sovereignty- imperfect as it was and is- is a central theme of Hanukkah is at least as old as Maimonides.
@Jacob_Labendz So, many Zionists denigrated that suffering. Zionists, today, have tended to (a) reject that שלילת הגולה while (b) not embracing the fetishization of weakness
